'Eradicate filthy, cow-worshipping Hindus”, says Palestinian Islamic scholar: Vicious rhetoric in Muslim world on pretext of ‘blasphemy’ charges against Nupur Sharma morphed into open hate speech and genocidal calls against Hindus

“Hindus, you filthy Hindus.. Muhammad is the master of all people. Oh Muslims, do you see the infidels’ successive affronts and hostilities towards the Messenger of Allah?

The vicious rhetoric in the Muslim world on the pretext of ‘blasphemy’ charge levelled against Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal has now morphed into open hate speech and genocidal calls against Hindus.

A Palestinian Islamic scholar Nidhal Siam addressed a rally at Al-Aqsa mosque in the old Jerusalem city of Israel on 12 June where he called for jihad against “filthy, cow-worshipping” Hindus to “discipline and eradicate” them. He asked Pakistan to take special responsibility to take the lead in ‘disciplining Hindus’.

The rabid speech from the rally has been shared with captions by MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute), a non-profit Islamic press/world monitoring organization based in the United States. It reads:

“Hindus, you filthy Hindus.. Muhammad is the master of all people. Oh, Muslims, do you see the infidels’ successive affronts and hostilities towards the Messenger of Allah?

“We barely got cleared of France’s affronts, when we had to encounter the affronts by Hindus, those cow-worshippers. These affronts are nothing less than a war against Islam and Muslims.

“The infidels take turns in waging this war against the Muslims. First, it was America with its aggression against Iraq and Afghanistan, then along came Sweden with its kidnapping of Muslim children.

“France attacked once, the Russians multiple times, then there is China with its crimes, and now the Hindu cow-worshippers, who have destroyed mosques, killed Muslims, and destroyed their villages. Now they slander the Master of Mankind, peace be upon him. The one and only reaction to such a thing are to declare Jihad for the sake of Allah and to open up battlefronts for fighting, so that the army can have its say, by disciplining the infidels and polytheists and by eradicating them.

“As for you, oh people of Pakistan, you have a greater duty than others in fighting Hindus. They are right there on your border, occupying parts of your land and killing your people. You have a great army this is capable of disciplining Hindus, making them forget the whispers of Satan.”

‘Cow-worshipper’, ‘cow-piss drinker’ (or its Hindi variant ‘gaumutra’ drinker) is used as a dehumanizing slur against Hindus by Islamists and other Hinduphobes, including left-liberal HINOs (Hindu in Name Only). The feeling of love and sacredness that Hindus hold for the cow, one of the most compassionate and gentle animals which has a special significance in Dharma, is mocked and ridiculed by these Hindu haters. This is also the reason for the delight such elements take in slaughtering cows, as a way of expressing contempt for and superiority over Hindus.

The cleric, also called Abu Ibrahim, has called for jihad against kafirs (non-Muslims) several other times in the past too.

Al-Aqsa Mosque / Temple Mount

Al-Aqsa mosque is considered the third holiest site in Islam and is built at a spot called the Temple Mount. This place is considered holy by all 3 Abrahamic faiths – Judaism, Christianity, and Islam – and has a familiar history of once being a venerated pagan spot, which was later converted into a Jewish temple, and later a Church and mosque too appeared in the same compound. It has changed hands between these different religious groups depending on the balance of power between them. Today, it is a source of communal conflict and tensions in the Middle East, primarily between Jews and Muslims.

Muslims believe that Mohammed was transported from Mecca to this location during the ‘Night Journey’ in 621 CE (11 years before his death) on buraq (a heavenly beast resembling a winged horse). From Al-Aqsa, Mohammed is believed to have ascended to heaven to meet the other prophets of the Abrahamic faiths and Allah.
