"जानता है रे मेरा बाप कौन है": Natasha Danish Iqbal's chilling smile after a deadly crash in Karachi kills a father and daughter, injuring others; her and CEO husband Danish Iqbal's pre-arrest bails expose power dynamics and stir public demand for justice
In a deeply unsettling event that has reverberated across social media, a video capturing Natasha Danish, a Pakistani woman, smiling seemingly without remorse after being involved in a fatal car crash has sparked widespread outrage. The incident, which occurred on August 19, has not only drawn attention due to the severity of the accident but also because of the disconcerting reaction of the driver involved.

Natasha, who is married to Danish Iqbal—a well-known businessman in the community—was behind the wheel of a Toyota Land Cruiser speeding along Karsaz Road when she lost control of the vehicle. The accident unfolded rapidly and with tragic consequences. Attempting to maneuver a sharp turn from Tipu Sultan Road onto the service road near Muslim League House, Natasha’s SUV violently struck a motorcycle. This initial collision set off a catastrophic chain reaction. Her vehicle, seemingly unmanageable at the high speed, then collided with two additional motorcycles, multiplying the calamity.
The situation escalated further when her SUV, after hitting the motorcycles, veered off and smashed into a parked car, causing it to overturn. This detail, reported by Dawn newspaper, adds to the chaotic scene that bystanders and subsequent viewers of the video witnessed.
The devastating impact of this crash resulted in the deaths of 60-year-old Imran Arif and his daughter, Amna Arif, who were among the victims struck during the incident. The loss has been profoundly felt by the community, stirring discussions on traffic safety and the responsibilities of drivers. Additionally, four other individuals were seriously injured in the crash. These victims were quickly transported to nearby hospitals, where they received urgent medical attention for their injuries.
Following the crash, the authorities took swift action. Natasha was arrested for her role in the deadly incident, facing charges related to her careless driving. She was placed on a 14-day judicial remand as investigations continued. Adding to the severity of her situation, a police report later revealed that Natasha had a prohibited substance in her bloodstream at the time of the accident, complicating her legal defense and raising serious questions about the circumstances leading up to the crash.
This accident, and particularly Natasha’s reaction as captured in the viral video, has ignited a fierce debate on social media and within local communities about accountability, justice, and the impact of substance use on driving safety. The public’s strong reaction is fueled by the video of Natasha smiling post-accident—a smile that many perceive as a chilling disregard for the gravity of the situation and the lives lost. This has led to an outcry for stringent measures to prevent such tragedies in the future and for a thorough examination of the consequences faced by those in positions of privilege.

The tragic car accident orchestrated by Natasha Danish, wife of prominent businessman Danish Iqbal, not only claimed the lives of 26-year-old Aamna Arif and her 60-year-old father, Imran Arif, but also inflicted injuries upon five other individuals. This horrifying incident has continued to unravel, shedding light on the circumstances and the alarming aftermath that has captivated public attention.
According to Traffic Police Deputy Inspector General Ahmad Nawaz Cheema, as reported by Dawn, Natasha was operating the vehicle in an "extremely negligent manner," which directly led to this devastating collision. In the wake of the accident, an FIR was promptly registered against her, and a Karachi East court initially placed her in a one-day police custody. However, the case saw a significant twist when Investigation Officer Rehan Ahmed disclosed that he could not present Natasha before the special duty judicial magistrate. He explained to the court that she was "not in a position to bring to the court" since she had been admitted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC)'s psychiatry department for treatment.
The public's focus has intensively zeroed in on Natasha's conduct immediately following the accident. A series of shocking videos that went viral on social media showcase Natasha surrounded by an irate crowd, where she is seen smiling and audaciously flaunting her family's influence by proclaiming, "Tum mere baap ko nahi jante (You don't know who my father is)." This display of apparent indifference and entitlement has sparked a fierce backlash online.
Reactions on social media have been overwhelmingly critical of Natasha's demeanor. One user expressed disgust by commenting, "Zero regrets," while another labeled her an "Ignorant selfish coward," adding that "scattered nations deserve these calamities." The sentiment of frustration and demand for accountability is palpable, with another user on X advocating for radical societal change: "The only way forward for Pakistan is a revolution where all of this country's elite is k-illed."
Calls for justice are loud and clear among the populace. "Throw her behind bars and treat her like any other prisoner," demanded another comment, reflecting a strong desire for equitable legal treatment. Meanwhile, a pessimistic prediction from another X user suggests that despite the public outcry, Natasha might "definitely" escape any severe consequences, with the user condemning the "Criminals mafia of Pakistani elites" as the underlying issue.

Gul Ahmed Employees, Natasha's Friends Defend Her After Deadly Karsaz Accident
A recent, serious road incident in Karachi has sparked heated debates and calls for accountability, yet there's a contingent vocal in their defense of the accused, Natasha Danish Iqbal. Alleged colleagues from Gul Ahmed Fabrics and personal acquaintances have provided a different perspective on the events that unfolded on August 19.
Despite the grave consequences of the crash, these defenders are highlighting Natasha's personal struggles, suggesting that her mental state at the time was a significant factor. They claim she was coping with depression and frustration, which they argue could have contributed to a momentary lapse in judgment rather than deliberate negligence.
A particular statement from an executive at Gul Ahmed Fabrics Islamabad, who expressed her thoughts on Dialogue Pakistan's social media, emphasized that the incident, while tragic, was accidental. She elaborated, "Natasha is not a criminal; it was an accident. We all make mistakes. She was distracted while driving because she was dealing with depression, frustration, and other issues. She wasn't drunk or on drugs at all; the police confirmed this. She should pay a heavy penalty to the victim's family. Thousands of people die in road accidents every year in Pakistan; this is just another case. It’s better to help the victim's family with some money (which is called diyat in Islamic terms) since they were already struggling. Natasha will be out soon, Inshallah. It was an accident, and she deeply regrets it."
Further fueling the controversy, this executive also posted comments on her personal social media page that criticized those demanding stringent legal action, effectively trolling them for their stance.
This narrative has resonated with some, as evident in the supportive comments on her posts, where individuals echo sentiments of forgiveness and reparative justice rather than punitive measures.
However, this perspective is far from universally accepted. Many across the nation are outraged, emphasizing that the severity of the incident—resulting in fatalities and injuries—cannot be overlooked or downplayed. This collective grief and demand for justice have galvanized the community in Karachi.
Responding to the unfolding situation, locals have planned a demonstration at the Karachi Press Club at 4 pm today, signaling a robust call for justice and a thorough examination of the circumstances leading to such tragic outcomes.
A recent deadly accident on Karsaz Road in Karachi has sparked widespread outrage and demands for justice. However, alleged employees of Gul Ahmed Fabrics and friends of the prime suspect, Natasha Danish Iqbal, have come to her defense.
The horrific accident resulted in the deaths of two people and injured four others. Despite the severity of the accident and the suspect's alleged intoxication while driving, some individuals have defended Natasha, citing that "she was dealing with depression and frustration, and that the accident was not intentional."
A woman, who according to her Facebook bio is an executive at Gul Ahmed Fabrics Islamabad, expressed her support for Natasha in the comments section of a post by Dialogue Pakistan. She wrote, "Natasha is not a criminal; it was an accident.
She also shared a post on her social media platform's timeline, trolling those demanding justice for the victims.
In the comments section of her post, several other people put their support behind the prime suspect in the case.
However, the nation remains in shock and is demanding justice for the victims. Many have expressed anger at the defenses being made for the alleged suspect, saying that the severity of the accident and the loss of life cannot be ignored.
The residents of the port city have also announced to stage a protest today (August 24) at Karachi Press Club at 4pm to demand justice for the victims of the Karsaz accident.

Natasha’s Husband, CEO of Gul Ahmed Energy, Granted Pre-Arrest Bail
In a recent development in the Karsaz road accident case, the Sindh High Court (SHC) has granted a seven-day protective pre-arrest bail to Danish Iqbal, the CEO of Gul Ahmed Energy and husband of the suspect, Natasha Danish. This court decision allows Danish some leeway to prepare for potential legal proceedings while ensuring his temporary freedom.
The court’s directive requires Danish to provide a solvent surety of Rs 50,000 or to voluntarily surrender before the trial court by September 4. This stipulation aims to balance the legal rights of the individual with the requirements of the ongoing investigation.
During the proceedings, Danish’s legal representation argued that despite Natasha’s arrest, Danish had been implicated during the investigative process. His attorney highlighted that the police had conducted multiple raids on Danish’s residence and other properties in attempts to detain him, despite lacking substantial evidence linking him directly to the criminal act involved in the accident.
Further complicating matters, Danish’s lawyer pointed out issues with the investigative process. According to the counsel, the investigating officer had repeatedly requested documents proving ownership of the vehicle, which was registered under Danish’s company. These documents were provided, yet the officer issued another notice under Section 160 of the Pakistan Penal Code with what the defense suggested might be an ulterior motive.
In response to these developments, Danish’s counsel requested a two-week protective bail. This period would allow Danish to engage directly with the investigating officer and actively participate in the investigation, aiming to clarify his legal position and responsibilities.
Justice Muhammad Saleem Jesser, presiding over the preliminary hearing, granted Danish Iqbal protective pre-arrest bail for seven days. The judge's order emphasized that this decision did not delve into the merits or demerits of the case but was a procedural safeguard. Danish is required to secure his bail with a solvent surety and a personal recognizance bond, both set at Rs. 50,000, to the satisfaction of the court's Nazir.
This bail is effective until September 4 or until Danish decides to appear or surrender to the court with jurisdiction over his case, whichever comes first. This legal maneuver provides a brief respite for Danish, allowing him time to organize his defense and address the charges leveled against him and indirectly, his spouse.

Who is Danish Iqbal?
Danish Iqbal holds the position of chief executive officer at Gul Ahmed Energy Limited. In the case under scrutiny, the Toyota Land Cruiser involved in the fatal accident was registered under the name of this company, linking him indirectly to the incident through corporate ownership.

Durefishan Saleem Demands Accountability for Natasha After Deadly Accident Under Drug Influence
The tragic Karsaz car accident, which resulted in severe casualties and injuries, has escalated into a major public and legal ordeal. Renowned actor Durefishan Saleem has vocally demanded that Natasha Danish Iqbal, identified as the prime suspect in this harrowing incident, be held accountable for her actions, specifically her driving under the influence of drugs.
This call for accountability came shortly after a chemical examination on Wednesday confirmed the presence of the banned substance "ice" in Natasha's urine sample. This development is expected to significantly influence the legal proceedings, as the probe team prepares to present these findings in court.
The demand for justice gained momentum especially after footage surfaced online showing Natasha at the accident scene, where she appeared visibly dizzy and intoxicated, raising serious public safety concerns. The accident, which occurred on August 19, involved Natasha, reportedly the daughter-in-law of the prominent business tycoon family behind Gul Ahmed, losing control of her vehicle. She crashed into several vehicles on Karsaz Road in Karachi, resulting in the deaths of a father and daughter and injuries to four others.
Durefishan Saleem took to Instagram to express her stance, emphasizing the broader issue of drug use and its consequences on society. She asserted, “Hold each and every human who does drugs in any form accountable for their actions,” reflecting a strong advocacy for stringent legal measures against such reckless behaviors.
Additionally, CCTV footage captured the sequence of events leading to the accident. It showed that Natasha collided with another car and a bike before her vehicle ultimately struck the motorbike carrying the father and daughter, causing fatal injuries. This footage is crucial as it provides clear evidence of the sequence of events and her attempts to flee the scene by overspeeding.
Following the incident, a formal case was registered at the Bahadurabad police station, prompted by a complaint from the brother of the deceased man. Currently, the case remains pending in court. Initially, Natasha's legal defense revolved around claims of her mental instability, arguing that her family was unaware of her taking the car. However, assessments at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center’s Department of Psychiatry later declared her mentally fit, complicating her defense and focusing the trial more on the facts of her actions during the incident.
