"One leak will sink a ship: and one sin will destroy a sinner": Hindus protest to stop demolition of old Shani-Hanuman temple, Kejriwal sent team to demolish a temple issuing orders by PWD Delhi in Mandawali after the complaint by Javed, Mansoor, Naushad

In the heart of Delhi, a city that has been a witness to centuries of history and culture, a shocking event unfolded that left the local Hindu community in disbelief and despair. The Public Works Department (PWD) of Delhi issued a notice for the demolition of an age-old Shani-Hanuman temple, a spiritual sanctuary for countless devotees. The news was met with massive protests, as the local Hindu community rallied to protect their place of worship.

The temple, nestled in the bustling Mandawali area, has been a beacon of faith for the local community. The news of its impending demolition sent shockwaves through the city, prompting a wave of protests. The streets around the temple echoed with chants of Hanuman and Shani hymns, as the community united in a show of solidarity against the demolition order.
The notice, issued on June 21, was reportedly based on a complaint filed by three individuals - Javed, Mansoor, and Naushad. The temple authorities were left in a state of shock and disbelief, unable to comprehend the sudden turn of events. The protesters vehemently condemned the notice and demanded that the temple not be demolished.

This incident is not an isolated one. In recent times, several Hindu temples in Delhi have faced similar threats of demolition. On March 15, a Hanuman temple, which had stood for about fifty years, was demolished by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) officials. The portrait of Lord Hanuman was trampled during the demolition drive, adding to the anguish of the devotees.
In another incident, a 100-year-old Hanuman temple in the Bhajanpura area of Delhi was targeted for demolition. Similarly, the Delhi High Court cleared the path for the demolition of a 55-year-old Kali Mata Mandir at Mayapuri Chowk, citing that the temple had encroached on the footpath and road, which was 'not permissible'.

These incidents have sparked a wave of outrage and disbelief among the Hindu community. The VHP Delhi leader commented on the issue, alleging that the AAP government is deliberately targeting Hindu temples to appease a particular community for votes. The protesters echoed these sentiments, chanting Hanuman and Shani stotras as they gathered on the streets to protest against the demolition of the Shani and Hanuman temple.
The demolition of Hindu temples in Delhi has raised serious concerns about religious freedom and cultural preservation. The Hindu community, shocked and disheartened by these events, continues to rally in defense of their places of worship. The fight to save the Shani-Hanuman temple in Mandawali is not just about one temple; it is about preserving the cultural and spiritual heritage of a community.
