On Tuesday, May 28, the Delhi High Court dismissed a plea by former Popular Front of India (PFI) Chairman E Abubacker seeking his release in the UAPA case being investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The court, comprising Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Manoj Jain, highlighted the severe threat posed by the banned Islamist organization, stating that their ultimate goal was to overthrow India's democratically elected government and replace the existing constitution with Sharia Law.

A troubling case of forced conversion has emerged in Uttarakhand. On May 25th, the Ranipur Police in Haridwar district registered an FIR against Hakeem Mufti Adil under Sections 3 and 5 of the Uttarakhand Freedom of Religion Act, 2018. The complaint was filed by a man named Kundan, who alleged that Hakeem Mufti Adil enticed his parents to convert to Islam in exchange for money.

On Sunday (26th May), Haldwani Police arrested Saif Ali, who is accused of using the fake identity of a Hindu man to trap a Hindu girl in a love affair. "After getting information from Hindu activist groups, the Police caught Saif at a private hotel near the railway station in the Lalkuan Nagar area." The accused had booked a room in the hotel using a fake ID card. "The accused had booked the room by showing an ID card in the name of Sukhwinder Singh but when the Police interrogated him, he revealed that he is a Muslim and his name is Saif Ali." The police are investigating the matter.
