Hindus were brutally massacred in Pahalgam after religious profiling by Pakistani terrorists, yet Opposition leaders denied the jihadist motive, whitewashed the carnage as politics, and handed Pakistan the perfect shield for its blood-soaked terror agenda

The terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, has emerged as one of the deadliest hate-driven massacres India has seen since Pulwama. In a horrifying display of ideological violence, twenty-six civilians were executed, with all but one being Hindu. Terrorists reportedly forced their victims to recite the Kalma and checked for circumcision to identify non-Muslims, targeting them with calculated brutality.

Survivors like Asavari Jagdale and Sujatha Bhushan have described in gut-wrenching detail how they barely escaped, painting a grim portrait of religious profiling and ideological jihad, driven by elements with clear links to Pakistan-backed extremist groups.
And yet, in a shocking twist that adds insult to the national injury, some Indian Opposition leaders appeared more eager to dilute the truth than demand justice. On a now-viral episode of Kapil Sibal’s YouTube show ‘Dil Se with Kapil Sibal’, a group of politicians—Kapil Sibal, Sagarika Ghose, Gaurav Gogoi, and Sanjay Raut—can be seen and heard denying the religious nature of the attack, saying it was being "politicised" by the Modi government for mileage. Instead of acknowledging the targeted killing of Hindus, they attempted to recast the massacre as “a random act of violence.”
“Politicised” by the Modi government to milk the situation, they claimed—an assertion so disconnected from reality that it risks undermining national cohesion at a time when clarity is most needed.
This level of denial isn’t just factually wrong; it is strategically reckless. To gaslight the public by sanitizing the ideology behind such a calculated act of violence is to feed a narrative that gives ideological cover to the very forces India is fighting.
Operation Mahadev Ends Hunt: Terrorists Identified and Eliminated
On July 28, 2025, India saw justice delivered through Operation Mahadev. Standing in Parliament, Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed that all three perpetrators—Suleman alias Faizal Jatt, Hamza Afghani, and Zibran—were Pakistani nationals and members of Lashkar-e-Taiba. These terrorists were hunted down and killed in an operation in Dachigam, powered by a two-month-long, coordinated intelligence effort by the IB, CRPF, Indian Army, and J&K Police.
The evidence was undeniable. Forensic tests confirmed that the weapons used in the Pahalgam massacre matched those recovered from the site where the terrorists were gunned down. They were found in possession of Pakistani voter ID cards, Pakistani-made chocolates, and other material that not only confirmed their nationality but pointed directly at their ideological motives. Eyewitness accounts further corroborated their identities.
And yet, certain Opposition leaders continue to ignore these facts, choosing to peddle misleading narratives. When the terrorists are not only caught and killed but also forensically identified and linked to the crime, and leaders still choose denial, the line between political dissent and national betrayal becomes dangerously blurred. By continuing to label the incident as politicisation, these leaders are not just distorting facts—they are playing into Pakistan’s psychological warfare against India.
How Pakistan’s Old Lies Echo Through India’s Political Corridors
For decades, Pakistan has attempted to dodge accountability by pushing the lie of “false flag operations”, claiming India conducts its own attacks to justify retaliation. What once seemed like desperate propaganda from Rawalpindi and Islamabad has now begun to echo in Indian studios and social media podcasts.
By diminishing the cross-border and religious motivations behind the Pahalgam killings, the Indian Opposition has handed Pakistan a ready-made narrative shield. Rather than stand in solidarity with the victims, certain leaders seem more interested in finding ways to blame the Indian government. Their obsession with criticising Prime Minister Modi has now taken a dark turn—into terror denial.
In doing so, they ignore the tireless work of NIA officials, forensic teams, and intelligence agencies, who conducted over 3,000 hours of interviews and collated irrefutable ballistic evidence. Instead of supporting national efforts for justice, these deniers have unwittingly—or perhaps deliberately—dishonoured the dead, disrespected the brave, and emboldened future attackers. Now, jihadists know that even after committing a massacre, parts of India’s political machinery may still grant them ideological immunity.
From Silence to Betrayal: Opposition’s Disturbing Shift
The Pahalgam massacre was more than a horrific tragedy—it was a targeted act of jihad against Hindus. Survivors didn’t merely witness a bloodbath—they lived through what could only be described as a mini-genocide. And while they heal from their trauma, Indian lawmakers were seen dismissing these lived experiences, accusing the central government instead of manipulating the narrative.
What began as opposition to Modi has mutated into a dangerous distortion of the national interest—one that has not spared even the deceased. Rather than honour the victims, opposition leaders have leveraged their deaths for political gains, turning sacred memory into a tool for deflection.
This isn’t mere criticism anymore—it’s a clear case of giving rhetorical and ideological oxygen to Pakistan’s jihadist agenda. The Opposition’s addiction to contrarianism has reached a level where truth itself has become a casualty.
When Facts Are Rejected and Terror Is Denied
In any democracy, political disagreement is healthy. But when politicians deny verified terrorist attacks, the nation enters a dangerous zone. The Pahalgam killings were undeniably religiously motivated. The terrorists were Pakistanis. Their weapons were forensically matched, their identities confirmed, and their ties to Lashkar-e-Taiba established beyond doubt.
To claim otherwise is not dissent; it is disinformation.
By continuously spinning Islamist terror as an instrument of political opportunism, some leaders have crossed an unthinkable line. Their allegiance to vote-bank appeasement now outweighs their commitment to truth and national security. And in doing so, they have given Pakistan exactly what it desires: legitimacy through Indian voices.
One cannot overlook the timing either. On the same day that a viral clip surfaced showing four Rajya Sabha leaders trivialising the Pahalgam killings, another clip showed Congress MP Rahul Gandhi falsely accusing late Arun Jaitley of threatening him over farm laws. The double exposure of dishonesty paints a telling picture: India’s Opposition seems to have collectively decided that truth is disposable if it stands in the way of political power.
In such moments, the nation is left with a stark choice:
India must choose truth over lies, reality over delusion, justice over appeasement, and memory over manufactured narratives.
