Law enforcement officials in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, have recently taken a local educator into custody following serious complaints. The individual, identified by authorities as Sohail Ahmed Khan, was employed as a teacher at Study World Classes, an educational institute situated in the Mission Compound area. His arrest comes in the wake of accusations that he actively pressured his female Hindu students to abandon their faith and convert to Islam, while also openly making offensive remarks regarding traditional Hindu beliefs.

The sequence of legal action began when a formal complaint was lodged against him at the local Kotwali police station on the 5th of April. Law enforcement moved quickly, filing a First Information Report (FIR) the very next day, on the 6th of April. Media reports covering the incident indicate that the police have already thoroughly recorded the official statements from the individuals who came forward. Following these preliminary steps, the accused teacher was processed and has already been remanded to jail while the case develops.

Pupils Allege Sohail Pushed for Conversion and Sent Inappropriate Late-Night Texts

The specifics of the complaints paint a concerning picture of the classroom dynamics. According to the grievances filed by the young women, Sohail used his position of authority to collect their personal phone numbers. He reportedly justified asking for their contact information by claiming he needed to send them study notes and academic materials. However, instead of providing educational support, the students allege that he began reaching out to them late at night. During these late-night exchanges, he allegedly tried to persuade the girls to embrace Islam. Furthermore, the female students reported to the authorities that these communications frequently included highly objectionable and inappropriate messages.

The allegations extend beyond digital communication and into the physical classroom environment. Several students recounted that while they were supposed to be learning their regular coursework, Sohail would make derogatory and insulting remarks concerning Hindu deities. In a move that deeply offended the students, he also reportedly encouraged them to consume beef. The young women felt that he was actively trying to brainwash them, noting that he consistently hijacked academic sessions to debate and promote religious topics rather than focusing on the actual syllabus he was hired to teach.

Alarmed by this behavior, the students eventually took their concerns to the coaching center's leadership, specifically notifying the director, Ravi Nagoria, and his wife. Upon learning that he had been reported, Sohail allegedly retaliated by directly threatening the students. He subsequently halted his teaching duties, a sudden disruption that left the students deeply anxious about the fate of their ongoing academic studies.

Grievances Lodged at SSP Office, FIR Officially Filed

Faced with these alleged threats and the disruption to their education, the distressed students decided to escalate the matter. They went directly to the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to ensure their voices were heard. There, they handed in a comprehensive written complaint detailing all of Sohail's actions. The police took immediate cognizance of this written submission, which formed the foundation for the FIR and led to his prompt arrest. As the formal investigation gathers pace, investigating officers have spent considerable time sitting down with the students, as well as other relevant parties involved in the coaching center, to officially record their accounts of the events.

Detained Teacher Alleges a Setup

Despite the heavy allegations mounting against him, the accused maintains a completely different narrative regarding the events leading to his arrest. Sohail claims that the entire situation is a fabricated conspiracy designed to ruin his reputation. According to his defense, he recently found himself in a bitter financial dispute with the operator of the coaching center regarding money matters. He insists that he is being falsely implicated in this religious conversion controversy purely as a form of revenge stemming from that monetary disagreement.

Addressing the press, the local police confirmed that they are not taking a one-sided approach and have diligently interrogated both the accused and the accusers. Circle Officer (CO) City, Lakshmikant Gautam, publicly addressed the situation, stating that every single allegation mentioned in the students' complaint is being carefully examined. He confirmed that a comprehensive and impartial investigation remains actively underway to uncover the exact truth behind the competing claims.
