Bareilly Shocked as 19-Year-Old Arman Kills Senior Citizen Siyaram Srivastava Before Visiting Local Shrine, Alleges 'Jinn' Commanded Bloodshed

In a deeply disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves across the state of Uttar Pradesh, the Bareilly Police have successfully cracked the horrifying murder of a 70-year-old businessman. The elderly man's lifeless body was discovered with multiple sharp knife wounds shortly after he had stepped out of his house for a standard morning walk.

Upon being apprehended, the primary accused—a 19-year-old youth named Mohammad Arman—made a startling revelation to law enforcement officers. He told the police that he carried out the fatal attack because a “jinn” had instructed him to shed human blood. However, senior police authorities have clarified that the youth suffers from severe psychiatric issues, emphasizing that the official criminal investigation is firmly grounded in concrete physical evidence rather than any supernatural claims made by the suspect.

Senior Local Businessman Found Slain During Routine Daily Morning Walk

The tragedy unfolded on the morning of July 24, when the victim, 70-year-old Siyaram Srivastava, departed from his home to go for his customary morning stroll along the main roads near the Dhauratanda Highway, located within the jurisdiction of the Bhojipura Police Station in Bareilly.

When Siyaram failed to return home after a considerable amount of time, his anxious family members went searching for him, only to find his blood-stained body lying abandoned along the edge of the road, covered in deep stab wounds. A formal post-mortem examination was subsequently conducted on the victim's remains, which officially confirmed that he had sustained "more than a dozen wounds" across his body, all inflicted by a sharp, cutting weapon.

The brutal nature of the murder triggered immense panic and shock throughout the entire neighborhood. In the initial stage following the crime, the grieving family members of Siyaram Srivastava suspected that the attack was tied to an ongoing, long-standing property feud. They formally named their neighbor, Lalaram, along with his sons, accusing them of direct involvement in the killing. Acting upon the written complaint submitted by the family, the local police registered an official case and launched an immediate probe into the matter.

Comprehensive Surveillance Footage Analysis Exposes the Real Culprit

Under the direct leadership and strict guidance of Bareilly Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya, law enforcement teams intensified their investigation. After thoroughly investigating the initial suspects, officers found absolutely no physical or circumstantial evidence linking the neighbor Lalaram or his family to the crime scene.

To break the deadlock, dedicated task forces—including members from the Special Operations Group (SOG), the local Bhojipura police unit, and the district Crime Branch—expanded their search parameters. The joint teams painstakingly gathered and reviewed hours of closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings and conducted extensive technical surveillance across all routes connected to the highway.

This meticulous electronic tracing eventually led the investigation directly to 19-year-old Mohammad Arman. CCTV footage captured his precise movements, and his vehicle matched the exact visual parameters and tire tracks recorded around the crime scene at the time of the assault. Armed with this conclusive technical proof, police moved in and formally took Arman into custody.

Suspect Claims Insidious Instructions From a 'Jinn' Driven by Bloodlust

During his formal police interrogation, the young accused made bizarre statements regarding his motivation. Arman insisted to the interrogating officers that he had been hearing the persistent, internal voice of a “jinn” over a very long period of time.

According to official statements released by the police, Arman disclosed during questioning that this voice continuously demanded blood and explicitly ordered him to target and take the life of the very first person he happened to run into that morning.

Outlining the execution of the crime, police detailed how Arman first deliberately rammed his motor car directly into Siyaram Srivastava as he walked along the road. Immediately after striking the elderly man with the vehicle, Arman exited the car and launched a brutal, repeated attack using a sharp weapon, inflicting numerous fatal injuries. Nevertheless, police officers have strongly emphasized to the public that these horrific confessions remain part of the accused’s internal interrogation transcripts and are strictly "not being treated as factual evidence" by the state.

Law Enforcement Confirms Accused Battles Severe Mental Illness and Addiction

In their official briefings, investigators revealed that Mohammad Arman has a documented, long-standing history of severe mental illness and was actively undergoing medical treatment for his psychological state.

According to senior police officials, Arman's wild claims about hearing supernatural voices and receiving commands from a spirit appear to be directly connected to his underlying psychological disorder. Furthermore, investigating officers highlighted that the youth has an established record of chronic substance abuse. Law enforcement agencies are now closely evaluating whether his volatile combination of psychiatric illness and drug addiction directly triggered the violent outburst.

Suspect Visited Local Shrine Before Making Full Confession to His Father

Police timelines revealed that immediately after committing the brutal assault on the highway, Arman drove away from the crime scene and visited a nearby religious place. Once at the shrine, he lit several incense sticks, operating under the irrational belief that he had successfully fulfilled the bloody demands made by the “jinn”.

Following this religious ritual, the teenager returned to his family residence and made a complete, unreserved confession regarding the murder to his father, Imtiaz Ahmad. However, rather than doing his civic duty by promptly contacting the authorities or informing the local police about his son's horrific act, Imtiaz chose to protect him. He actively stepped in to assist his son in destroying crucial physical evidence and attempting to cover up the crime.

Father Formally Arrested and Jailed for Intentional Destruction of Evidence

Recognizing the father's active role in concealment, the Bareilly Police officially placed Imtiaz Ahmad under arrest. He faces serious legal charges for aiding and abetting a suspect and deliberately taking steps to destroy critical evidence linked to a homicide.

As part of their ongoing physical evidence recovery, police officers successfully located and seized the primary murder weapon used in the sharp-force attack. Furthermore, police impounded the specific motor vehicle that investigators proved was used to strike Siyaram Srivastava before the deadly knife assault occurred.

Multi-Dimensional Scientific Investigation Continues Unabated

Senior police authorities have assured the public that the comprehensive investigation into the murder of Siyaram Srivastava remains fully active on multiple fronts. Forensics teams and investigators are continuing to examine every dimension of the offense, including Arman's complete medical history, his past psychiatric records, and all physical forensic evidence gathered from the scene and vehicle.

Officials reiterated that the prosecution's court case will be constructed purely on the basis of solid scientific evidence, forensic findings, verifiable witness testimonies, and standard judicial procedures. The law enforcement agency firmly noted that the accused’s repeated claims of acting under the direct orders of a “jinn” will strictly be evaluated within the narrow framework of assessing his clinical mental condition and legal sanity.
