"The person that said winning isn’t everything, never won anything": India’s Miracle Boy Neeraj Chopra scripts history as first Indian to win silver medal at World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, best throw was 88.13 meter

On July 24, India's Javelin hurler Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the finals of the men's javelin throw at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon. His best toss was 88.13 meters, which he had enlisted in the fourth endeavor. Anderson Peters of Grenada won the gold with the best toss of 90.54 meters, and Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic won bronze with a best toss of 88.09 meters.

With this silver medal, Chopra turned into the main Indian man and the second Indian to win a decoration at World Athletics Championships. Before him, long jumper Anju Bobby George had won a bronze decoration in 2003.

Chopra's first try was a foul, and he enlisted 82.39 meters in the subsequent endeavor. In the third endeavor, he tossed 86.37 meters, trailed by 88.13 meters in the fourth endeavor, which put him up for the silver award. Quite, he had topped the Group A qualification round. He qualified for the finals with 88.39 meters, his third profession best toss.

In a proclamation, Chopra said, "While conditions were bad and the breeze speed was excessively high, I was certain I would perform well. I'm happy with the outcome, I am cheerful I had the option to win a decoration for my country. The opposition was intense, contenders were tossing on a decent normal, and it became testing. I gained some significant knowledge today. They strive after gold will proceed. However, I want to trust we can't get gold each time. I will give my very best, spotlight, and focus on my preparation."

 He added, "It could have looked simple yet Anderson probably set forth gigantic energy to cross 90 meters. He is a world leader this year, tossing excellent tosses, a few over 90 meters. I'm cheerful he has buckled down. This is great for me as well, I have a great rivalry. I didn't feel compelled by the way that I am an Olympic hero. I had confidence in myself even after the third toss. I got back in the game and dominated silver, it felt better. I would attempt to change the shade of the award sometime later."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Neeraj and wrote, “A great accomplishment by one of our most distinguished athletes! Congratulations to Neeraj Chopra on winning a historic Silver medal at the #WorldChampionships. This is a special moment for Indian sports. Best wishes to Neeraj for his upcoming endeavors.”

Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said, “Neeraj Chopra continues his winning streak! Wins Silver in Men’s javelin throw at @/WCHoregon22 with his best throw of 88.13m, becoming the 1st Indian male and 2nd Indian to win a medal at the World Championships! Neeraj has now won a medal at every Global event!”

 Friends and family broke into celebrations to celebrate Neeraj Chopra’s achievement.
