"राम मंदिर ध्वजारोहण": As Narendra Modi hoists the saffron flag at the Ram Mandir Dhwajarohan in Ayodhya, Pakistan, Islamists and India’s woke lobby erupt in fierce hatred, uniting in outrage against the revived Hindu identity

On 25th November, Ayodhya witnessed a major and emotional moment during the Dhwajarohan (flag-hoisting) ceremony held at the newly constructed Ram Mandir.

This event marked the final completion of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, a milestone deeply significant for millions of Hindus. Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally hoisted the saffron flag on the temple’s shikhar, addressing a large gathering and reminding everyone that this moment symbolised the fulfilment of a 500-year-old civilisational commitment.
But even such a historic and spiritual occasion could not unfold peacefully. As expected, it triggered waves of anger and bitterness from Islamists, sections of “woke” activists, and of course, Pakistan, a country that has for decades targeted and reduced its Hindu population while still preaching to India about secularism.
The rebuilding of the temple — described as the correction of a long-standing historical wrong — was twisted by jihad-driven voices in Islamabad. They labelled the event as “Islamophobia” and “heritage desecration,” ignoring the fact that the disputed structure had itself replaced the original Hindu heritage on that sacred site. After centuries, the rightful home of the deity had finally been restored, yet this truth was deliberately brushed aside.
|
The predictable rhetoric soon followed. Pakistan accused India of “discrimination towards minorities” and claimed that the event was an attempt to “eradicate Muslim culture and heritage” through so-called Hindutva forces. Ironically, it portrayed the country’s second-largest majority population as helpless “victims” of the Indian state — a narrative that has long been pushed to attack India’s religious and cultural self-confidence.
Adding to that, Pakistan’s government urged the United Nations and the international community to intervene in what is clearly India’s internal matter. Their claims revolved around unverified allegations of “hate speech” and “hate-motivated attacks.” In a further stretch, they demanded that the Modi government ensure the safety of minorities and their religious places, even citing international human rights responsibilities.
The irony here is hard to ignore. In a country where even false accusations of blasphemy can lead to people — especially Hindus — being lynched or burned alive, where courts sometimes function like kangaroo setups to satisfy extremist demands, and where terrorism remains one of the biggest exports, the notion of giving India lessons on inclusivity and minority welfare is a striking example of the upside-down world of Kalyuga.

Indian Wokes, Islamists Unite With Pakistan to Display Their Hostility Toward the Ceremony
Interestingly, when it comes to disdain for Sanatan Dharma, the difference between India’s left-leaning “woke” groups and the Islamist voices across the border becomes almost invisible. Their contempt for anything associated with Hindu traditions seems to bind them together more strongly than anything else.
This attitude became clear when Congress leader Lavanya Ballal Jain criticised journalist Rahul Shivshankar, accusing him of spreading lies and claiming that his support for the ceremony was driven by fear. Shivshankar had simply pointed out that honouring India’s Hindu origins was earlier dismissed as “communal activism,” but the country had now moved past that mindset. The truth, however, often irritates this ecosystem, and this time was no different.
Another well-known left-wing figure labelled Shivshankar a “collaborator” rather than a journalist, hinting that he had aligned himself with “Hindutva forces” just because he expressed pride in his faith and stated a factual observation.
|
Adding to the chorus, failed comedian Rajeev Nigam mocked the occasion by calling it a “gimmick” while replying to a celebratory post by actor Anupam Kher.
An Islamist commentator went even further, insisting that the removal of the disputed structure was “neither a civilizational victory for Hindus nor a detriment to the wider Ummah.” He then escalated the rhetoric by threatening that it would be rebuilt “like Hagia Sophia,” and gloated, “Hinduism eliminated from the historical centers of Hindu civilisation like Punjab, Sindh, Bengal, and Kashmir cannot be reversed.”
This faction constantly mourns the fall of a contested mosque built over the Ram Mandir, calling its replacement majoritarian oppression, while conveniently ignoring the atrocities — murder, rape, destruction — committed against native Hindus by invading tyrants in history.
Suhasini Haider tried to draw a misleading parallel by suggesting that the government expects non-Hindu institutions to raise the tricolour, yet PM Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath — both sworn to the Constitution — were raising a religious flag. Her post was eagerly shared by Arfa Khanum Sherwani, a leading propagandist.
|
What Haider left out was crucial: there is no nationwide rule forcing religious institutions to hoist the tricolour except during specific occasions such as Independence Day, and the Ram Mandir ceremony did not clash with any national event. Also, the Dharam Dhwaj is a traditional and essential part of Hindu temple rituals, making it central to the ceremony.
These groups have mastered the art of distorting facts when the truth threatens their preferred narrative. The religious ceremony annoyed one leftist so much that they even asked for sedition charges against journalist Shivshankar.
Another member mocked the Prime Minister’s emotional reaction, claiming his trembling hands were simply due to old age. They threw insults at nearly every part of the event — the rituals, the attendees, and even the people expressing happiness.
A liberal commentator also questioned whether the Republic of India, established on 26-01-1950, had been replaced by a new one. This accusation sounded particularly hypocritical when considering that the same Congress establishment they support once imposed Emergency, jailed the opposition, and even tampered with the Preamble, the soul of the Constitution, in an undemocratic way.

Final thoughts
All the examples above offer only a brief glimpse into the hostility, resentment and anger directed at this sacred occasion, at Prime Minister Modi, and at all those who felt proud of the moment.
Pakistan, Islamist groups, and a supportive left-liberal ecosystem spent the day either grieving or throwing wild accusations — all because the narrative they built for decades was falling apart. That narrative had long encouraged Hindus to feel inferior about their own culture while glorifying oppressive rulers, whether from Islamic invasions or British colonial rule. The Dhwajarohan shattered that script, and their fury made that more visible than ever.
