On the morning of July 31st, a peaceful Hindu procession, traversing the streets of Nuh district, Haryana, was brutally attacked by a rampaging Muslim mob. The incident was shockingly savage as it unfolded, with horrifying scenes of stone-pelting, arson, and looting perpetrated by the mob. Hindus were forced to take shelter in local temples and police stations as a hailstorm of stones descended upon them. Vehicles were set ablaze, shops were looted and public property was destroyed indiscriminately. Shockingly, even the police stations did not escape the wrath of the mob.

In the blink of an eye, the violence escalated and expanded beyond Nuh, infiltrating the tranquil suburbs of the neighboring Gurugram. With each passing moment, the panic and terror escalated as the mob showed no signs of stopping their rampage.

The reality of the violence was captured in countless video clips, which flooded the corridors of social media platforms, reflecting the sheer terror of that day. However, in an astounding display of biased reporting, leftist-communist media platforms such as Maktoob, Wire, etc., and international media agencies including the BBC, Reuters, DW, and CBS, are engaging in a deplorable narrative, misreporting the incident as a riot instigated by Hindus who torched a mosque.

The onslaught of violence also targeted the very forces that were assigned to maintain peace. Two brave home guards lost their lives and approximately a dozen police officers sustained injuries in the chaos. The mob, unabated, attacked a Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) procession, escalating the situation from bad to worse.

As the violence spiraled, protesters barricaded roads, causing hours of disruption. Among the injured officers were Hodal's deputy superintendent of police, Sajjan Singh, who was shot in the head, and an inspector who sustained injuries to his stomach. Both were grievously wounded, and the day's violence left in its wake a trail of horror, pain, and destruction that the people of Haryana will remember for a long time.

To prevent any disruption to peace and public order in the aftermath of the communal clashes, mobile internet and SMS services were suspended till August 5. These services have now been partially restored for three hours, starting from 1 pm on Thursday. Besides Nuh, services were also interrupted in Faridabad, Palwal and the territorial jurisdiction of sub-division Sohna, Pataudi and Manesar of Gurugram district.

The Haryana government made the decision to relax the internet suspension to aid candidates appearing for the Haryana CET 'Group C exam'. This move was intended to help them download their admit cards. Varun Singla, SP Nuh, shared that no fresh violence has been reported since the initial incident. Forces have been deployed in all areas, with around 14 companies of the central paramilitary forces called in from outside. Additionally, 21 companies of the Haryana Police have been deployed for maintaining vigilance day and night. The situation is gradually returning to normal. In the last 24 hours, four fresh FIRs have been registered, demonstrating the ongoing efforts to restore peace and justice in the district.
