The ₹32 Crore Corporate Execution: Inside the Mastermind Plot Against GSM Foils MD Mohansingh Parmar

The seven suspects arrested in the targeted shooting of industrialist Mohansingh Parmar were remanded to police custody until August 7, 2026, following their appearance before the Vasai Magistrate Court. Investigators from the Waliv Police Station presented primary forensic findings detailing how a corporate boardroom partnership deteriorated into an organized murder conspiracy.

At the center of the judicial proceedings stands 33-year-old Chartered Accountant and whole-time corporate director Sagar Girish Bhanushali, identified by law enforcement as the chief architect of the assassination plot.

Present-Day Case Overview
├── Target: Mohansingh Laxmansingh Parmar (MD, GSM Foils) — Recovering from chest gunshot & head injury
├── Mastermind: Sagar Girish Bhanushali (Co-Chairman/CA) — Remanded to custody until August 7, 2026
├── Core Motive: Evasion of ₹32 Crore debt buyout liability & hostile corporate takeover
├── Primary Forensic Trigger: ₹50 Lakh direct bank wire trace defying initial obfuscation
└── Total Arrests: 7 co-conspirators across Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh

The breakthrough in the investigation came when financial auditors working alongside police detectives uncovered an unobscured ₹50 lakh bank transfer directly from Parmar’s personal account into Bhanushali’s account. While Bhanushali had routed the vast majority of a ₹32 crore transaction through complex secondary channels to avoid leaving an audit trail, this single direct wire transfer provided law enforcement with the leverage needed to break his initial alibi.

Under sustained interrogation led by Senior Police Inspector Dilip Ghuge and Assistant Police Inspector Sopan Patil, Bhanushali confessed to orchestrating the assassination attempt.

Parmar, 46, the Managing Director of GSM Foils Limited, remains under medical care at Riddhi Vinayak Hospital in Nalasopara. Surgeons successfully treated a bullet wound to the right side of his chest and facial lacerations inflicted during the assault. Attending physicians confirm that his vital signs are stable and his recovery is progressing satisfactorily.

The Investigation Unravels and Multi-State Raids: August 1, 2026

The operational network behind the attack collapsed following coordinated raids executed by the Waliv Police in tandem with the Uttar Pradesh Police Special Task Force (STF). The multi-state operation led to arrests across Azamgarh and Ballia in Uttar Pradesh, alongside targeted detentions in Mumbai's western suburb of Goregaon.

Investigators encountered initial difficulties because none of the hitmen or intermediaries had prior criminal records on law enforcement databases. Mastermind Sagar Bhanushali had intentionally recruited operational operatives through his Goregaon-based associate, Vijay Kumar Vishwakarma, specifically seeking individuals without police records to avoid raising red flags during routine background checks.

The logistics of the hit squad involved a structured division of responsibilities:

  • Vijay Kumar Vishwakarma recruited office staff and acquaintances, promising payouts between ₹30 lakh and ₹40 lakh, backed by a ₹5 lakh upfront cash advance disbursed via Vijaykumar Prajapati.

  • Manoj Mulchand Thathera and Gokul Omprakash Gautam acquired country-made firearms from illegal arms networks operating in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

  • Anup Virendra Prajapati conducted physical reconnaissance outside the Vasai manufacturing unit, drove the getaway motorcycle, and attempted to dispose of physical evidence following the shooting.

  • Sujeet Devendrabhai Pandey was deployed as the primary hitman tasked with executing Parmar at close range.

  • Mohammed Yusuf Khan provided local operational coordination and logistics within Goregaon.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Virkar (Zone II, MBVV) confirmed that the murder conspiracy was engineered to permanently extinguish Bhanushali’s ₹32 crore financial liability to Parmar while clearing the path for Bhanushali to assume complete operational and financial control over GSM Foils Limited.

Additional Commissioner of Police Sanjay Shintre emphasized that the investigation is leveraging forensic analysis of Call Detail Records (CDR), Internet Protocol Detail Records (IPDR), banking ledgers, and ballistic testing to evaluate potential ties to broader corporate or financial syndicates.

Market Meltdown and Regulatory Disclosures: July 31, 2026

The corporate fallout from the assassination plot hit public markets when GSM Foils Limited issued an emergency filing under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The disclosure officially notified the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) of the violent attack on Managing Director Mohansingh Parmar and the subsequent arrest of Whole-time Director Sagar Bhanushali.

In an effort to reassure investors and commercial partners across the pharmaceutical supply chain, GSM Foils' senior management issued a statement confirming that production facilities in Vasai and Ahmedabad were continuing normal manufacturing operations. The statement added that internal administrative controls had been established to maintain operational continuity while the company fully cooperated with law enforcement authorities.

Medical Recovery and Initial Police Gridlock: July 26, 2026

Two days after the shooting, medical staff at Riddhi Vinayak Hospital in Nalasopara confirmed that Mohansingh Parmar had passed through critical care and was out of immediate danger. Parmar had initially been rushed to Gayatri Hospital immediately following the attack, before being transferred to Riddhi Vinayak for specialized surgical removal of bullet fragments from his chest cavity.

During the initial 48 hours of the investigation, the Waliv Police faced significant operational hurdles. Parmar was known within the local business community as a soft-spoken entrepreneur with no history of personal rivalries, extortion threats, or union conflicts. Early interviews with factory workers, corporate directors, and family members yielded no viable leads.

Capitalizing on this lack of immediate evidence, Sagar Bhanushali engaged in a deliberate campaign of deception. On the night of the attack, Bhanushali remained at the factory, helped carry the wounded Parmar into a vehicle, and personally drove him to the hospital.

In the days that followed, Bhanushali repeatedly called senior investigating officers, posing as a concerned business partner frantically offering assistance to track down the shooters. This performance held until financial auditors scrutinized bank records, exposing the debt trail that shifted suspicion directly onto him.

The Ambush at Diamond Industrial Estate: July 24, 2026

At approximately 8:00 PM on July 24, 2026, Mohansingh Parmar concluded his evening duties at the GSM Foils manufacturing plant, situated inside the Sapphire Building at Diamond Industrial Estate in Vasai East. As Parmar stepped into the parking yard and walked toward his Mahindra Thar SUV, two men positioned on a motorcycle near the gate prepared to execute the strike.

├── Malfunction: Pandey points pistol at Borade; weapon jams on second round
├── Physical Assault: Pandey strikes Parmar's head with heavy gun butt
└── Getaway: Assailants escape on motorcycle driven by Anup Prajapati

Masked shooter Sujeet Devendrabhai Pandey had concealed himself behind a parked Maruti WagonR. As Parmar approached his vehicle, Pandey stepped into the open and called out "Mohan". When Parmar turned around, Pandey fired a country-made pistol at point-blank range. The bullet struck Parmar in the right side of his chest, causing him to collapse onto the pavement shouting for help.

Hearing the gunshot, factory employee Narendra Rohidas Borade rushed out of the plant to defend his employer. Pandey swung the firearm toward Borade and pulled the trigger a second time, but the country-made pistol jammed in the chamber.

Faced with a mechanical failure, Pandey struck the wounded Parmar across the face with the heavy metal butt of the weapon, inflicting a deep head wound above his left eye. Pandey then sprinted to the getaway motorcycle operated by Anup Prajapati, and the pair escaped through the industrial estate grid.

Reconnaissance and Contract Killers: Mid-July 2026

The operational phase of the murder conspiracy was set in motion two weeks prior to the shooting. Bhanushali authorized an advance payout of ₹5 lakh to secure weapons, vehicles, and surveillance coverage.

Anup Prajapati was assigned to conduct physical surveillance outside the Vasai facility. Over several days, Prajapati mapped Parmar’s daily routines, shift departure times, parking habits, and security layouts.

Concurrently, the hit squad procured a motorcycle and altered its registration plates to hinder CCTV tracking along the Vasai-Virar industrial corridors. Meanwhile, Manoj Thathera and Gokul Gautam finalized the acquisition of illegal firearms from black-market sources in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, transferring the weapons to Mumbai via private ground transport.

Market Crash, Debt Buyout, and Plot Formulation: April–May 2026

The financial roots of the plot trace back three months prior to the attack. Sagar Bhanushali, leveraging aggressive margin trading positions across international stock exchanges—primarily within the United States—suffered catastrophic financial losses exceeding ₹55 crore following global market sell-offs linked to escalating Middle Eastern tensions.

Facing mounting demands from personal and institutional creditors, Bhanushali turned to his business partner. He persuaded Parmar to acquire his equity holdings in GSM Foils Limited under a share buyout deal valued at nearly ₹32 crore, promising to settle the transaction within six months.

Parmar liquidated personal assets and investment reserves to transfer the ₹32 crore to Bhanushali. Bhanushali meticulously routed most of these funds through obscure secondary accounts to prevent a clear paper trail.

                                         & Seize Full Corporate Control

Instead of using the capital to satisfy his creditors, Bhanushali realized that repaying Parmar would leave him financially insolvent. He calculated that Parmar's death would permanently erase the ₹32 crore debt liability while allowing him, as Co-Chairman and Whole-time Director, to assume total executive control over GSM Foils Limited.

To execute the scheme, Bhanushali recruited his Goregaon-based associate, Vijay Kumar Vishwakarma, who was himself owed ₹3 crore by Bhanushali. Promising to clear Vishwakarma’s debt immediately upon taking total control of the company, Bhanushali tasked him with assembling an untraceable hit squad.

To avoid law enforcement wiretaps, Bhanushali banned direct telephonic communications, restricting all tactical updates with Vishwakarma to encrypted audio channels on WhatsApp and Instagram.

Public Listing and Corporate Growth: May 2024

Two years before the attack, GSM Foils Limited achieved a major corporate milestone by launching its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the NSE SME platform. The public offering ran from May 24 to May 28, 2024, closing with full subscription across retail and institutional segments.

The successful public listing significantly elevated the corporate profiles of both Parmar and Bhanushali within Maharashtra’s industrial landscape.

Corporate Origins and Infiltration of Trust: 2019–2020

The origin of GSM Foils Limited dates back to its incorporation in April 2019 by founder Mohansingh Laxmansingh Parmar. Established in the industrial belt of Vasai, Thane district, the company set out to manufacture primary packaging solutions—specifically blister foils and aluminum pharma strip foils engineered to protect capsules and tablets for major pharmaceutical firms.

In 2020, Sagar Girish Bhanushali was hired as the company’s Chartered Accountant to manage corporate audits, taxation, and financial compliance. Over the next two years, Bhanushali systematically consolidated his influence within the firm. He married a fellow company employee, cultivated a close personal relationship with Parmar, and eventually earned a promotion to the Board of Directors as Whole-time Director and Co-Chairman.

This corporate positioning ultimately set the stage for the financial disputes and calculated violence that unfolded six years later.
