"Just like birds, hunters know no borders": Police and BSF team captured Bangladeshi Misba Uddin and Badrul Alom along the Indo-Bangladesh border for aiding illegal infiltration, Meghalaya shares a 443-km long international border with Bangladesh
Two Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills district, a senior police officer said on Saturday.
In response to information that a group of Bangladeshi nationals had been spotted on Friday in the jungle close to the open international border near Pyrtakuna village, a joint police and BSF team captured Misba Uddin (31) and Badrul Alom (30), while the others were able to escape and return to Bangladesh, according to Superintendent of Police Jagpal Singh Dhanoa.
Both the arrested persons were from Darponagar village in Bangladesh, he said.

Dhanoa said that “In the past few months, we actively assisted and encouraged the illegal infiltration of Bangladeshi people into India along the Kuliang-Ratacherra axis. As a result, we have detained two Bangladeshi individuals.”
This year alone East Jaintia Hills police caught more than 30 illegal BD infiltrators in the district.
Misba Uddin is sought after in numerous more situations. According to Dhanoa, an investigation is ongoing and a case has been filed.
Bangladesh and Meghalaya share a 443 km long international boundary, 20% of which is unfenced due to the topography.
Earlier on August 19 of this year, in an important verdict by the District and Sessions Judge Syed Imdadur Rahman from Mankachar court, two Bangladeshi nationals have been sentenced to five years in prison for illegally entering India. Additionally, the court slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 each on both Bangladeshi nationals.
It is learned that the two had entered Assam illegally from Bangladesh about a year ago and, the district and sessions judge's court of South Salmara Mankachar district sentenced the duo to five years in jail with a fine of Rs 10,000 each.
The convicts have been identified as Abdul Hai, a resident of Behuler Char village of Roumari police station in Bangladesh's Kurigram district, while the other is Niranjan Ghosh, a resident of Gaber gram village of Madergunj police station in Jamalpur district.
Two Rohingya Bangladeshi infiltrators were arrested from Assam on 24th Aug recently. Mohammad Jamal Hossain & Mohammad Amir Hakim were arrested at the railway station. Both used to live in a mosque in Jammu since 2016 & were returning to Bangladesh via Tripura. Fake documents were also recovered.

Two Bangladeshis were arrested from the Palam area too in Delhi. Several passports & fake stamps belonging to Bangladesh ministries were recovered from them.

Karnataka: 7 illegal Bangladeshi nationals working at a garment factory arrested in Ramanagara district
On Tuesday 12th July 2022, the Karnataka police arrested 7 illegal Bangladeshi nationals from the Ramanagara districts. The Bangladeshi nationals were illegally staying in Karnataka and working in a garment company called Link App Garments in Basvanapura village. Fake Indian IDs were found with the Bangladeshi nationals. This gang is said to have entered India through Assam. On getting a tip, the Karnataka police arrested 7 of them and further investigations in this case are going on.
While talking to news agency ANI, Santosh Babu, SP Ramanagara said, “Ramanagara rural police arrested seven Bangladeshi nationals who were living & working here with fake ID proofs. They were working in a garment factory. They had Odisha, West Bengal & Assam ID cards.”

Using these identity cards, they had secured jobs in Karnataka. According to a report by the Republic World, Ramanagara Superintendent of Police Santhosh Babu said, “We got a tip-off about Bangladeshi nationals working in Ramnagara. We have arrested 7 Bangladesh nationals, who were working in a garment factory. They reached Ramanagara on the 1st of June. They had Indian Aadhaar cards. We will question the garment factory owner regarding the criteria on which they had appointed them to the garment company. We are investigating further to trace the network.”

The arrested illegal Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Sohail Rana, Zulfiqar, Ujjal, Munazil, Mussa Shaik, Raheem, and Arif. According to the police, the Bangladeshis had illegally entered Assam in May this year, and had got Aadhaar cards in their names made through a broker using an address in Assam. From Assam they first went to Doddaballpur in Karnataka, from where they moved to Ramanagara. They secured jobs at a garments factory in Ramanagara. They were staying at a rented place there.
Ramanagar SP K. Santosh Babu said that the all seven persons have admitted that they entered Indian illegally, and they reached Karnataka with the help of a broker. Police have also recovered documents from them proving their Bangladeshi origin. All of them will be shifted to the Bengaluru detention centre after the interrogations. Police teams are searching for the broker that helped them.
