In a shocking Ghaziabad raid, Noida constable Saurabh Deshwal was brutally killed by a vicious mob led by vile criminal Qadir, who was shot in the leg and nabbed, as furious police hunt his cowardly accomplices and aid Saurabh’s heartbroken family

A shocking incident unfolded in Ghaziabad on Sunday night when a police operation to arrest a notorious criminal ended in the tragic death of a brave constable. The man at the center of the violence is Qadir, son of Khurshid, a 23-year-old from Nahal village under the Mussoorie police station area in Ghaziabad. Despite his young age, Qadir’s criminal record is staggering.
More than 24 cases are registered against him in Ghaziabad and Noida and many other districts. These include serious charges under the Gangster Act, as well as cases of robbery, assault, attempt to murder, and cow smuggling. According to Ghaziabad Police, cases are also registered against Qadir in Phase 3 police station of Noida.
Acting on a tip-off from an informer, a team from Noida Police set out to locate and apprehend Qadir. The informer had warned the police that Qadir is a habitual criminal and can run away on seeing the police, and many people with criminal tendencies live in the village. Taking this information seriously, officers traced Qadir to his residence in the village.
The Noida Police team reached Nahal village in Ghaziabad late on Sunday night, hoping to capture the wanted man without incident. Initially, the team succeeded in arresting Qadir from his home. But before they could leave the area, chaos erupted. Qadir’s accomplices, who were nearby, launched a sudden and violent attack on the police team.
In this incident, Noida Police constable Saurabh Deshwal died. A case regarding this deadly assault has been filed at the Mussoorie police station in Ghaziabad. Authorities responded swiftly, and Ghaziabad Police has arrested notorious history-sheeter Qadir of Nahal village in an encounter.
It was during the raid that the situation spiraled out of control. As the police team attempted to detain him, Qadir incited people that the police were arresting him and asked them to kill him. Enraged by his outcry, the local crowd turned into a violent mob and launched a brutal assault against the officers.
Qadir's associates had freed him by pelting stones and firing at the police team. In the chaos, Noida Police constable Saurabh Deshwal was shot in the firing by these criminals, who died during treatment in the hospital. In connection with the attack, police had registered a case against about a dozen criminals including Qadir.

A Noida Police team was attacked in Ghaziabad on Sunday while attempting to arrest a wanted accused named Qadir. Suddenly, the police found themselves under siege. During the operation, a violent mob opened fire and pelted stones at the police.
Constable Saurabh, who was part of the team, was shot and later succumbed to his injuries at hospital. The team had traced Qadir to a house in Masuri, Ghaziabad, and had barely begun their raid when violence broke out. As soon as the raid began, the crowd turned hostile and started stone-pelting.
The attackers didn’t stop at just throwing stones. Allegedly, members of the mob also opened fire, in which Constable Saurabh, posted at Phase-2 Police Station in Noida, was shot. He was immediately transported to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead.
Other members of the police force were also injured in the attack. Apart from Saurabh, 2–3 other police personnel sustained injuries during the attack. They are currently undergoing treatment and are stated to be out of danger.

Following the tragic death of Constable Saurabh Deshwal during a violent mob attack in Ghaziabad, police launched a swift and intense follow-up operation to track down the accused. The man at the heart of the incident, Qadir, known for his long criminal history, once again tried to evade the law.
According to Ghaziabad police, on the information of Noida police, the police immediately swung into action and surrounded the history-sheeter Qadir. But unlike the previous encounter, this time the officers were ready. When confronted, Qadir once again fired at the police party to escape from the police, but this time the police was already alert. A tense gunfight broke out on the spot, but the police quickly gained control of the situation. In such a situation, in a face-to-face firing, the police shot the accused in his leg and caught him.
According to DCP Rural, this criminal has been admitted to the hospital for now. Doctors are monitoring his condition, and he is under tight security. Once his medical condition improves, according to the police, after being discharged from the hospital, this criminal will be presented in the court.
While Qadir is under treatment, police have already started questioning him to gather more information about his network. Meanwhile, the police is also interrogating the criminal. Now the police is trying to identify his accomplices. Recognizing the volatile nature of the situation, Mussoorie police has deployed a large number of police forces in the village of the accused. Officials are leaving no stone unturned in locating the rest of Qadir’s group. According to SHO Mussoorie, all the accomplices of the accused are still absconding. They are being searched.
To ensure that the full weight of the law falls upon Qadir and his associates, police have invoked a wide range of legal provisions. A case has been registered against Qadir and his associates under sections 191(2), 191(3), 190, 131, 125, 121(2), 132, 109(1), 103(1), 61(2), 50, 351(3) of the Indian Penal Code, 2023 and section 7 of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 1932.
As news of Constable Saurabh’s death spread, police intensified their efforts. After the death of constable Saurabh Deshwal in stone pelting and firing on the Noida police team which had come to arrest the criminals in Mussoorie police station area late on Sunday night, the police is searching for the criminals. A major manhunt was launched, and a team of 200 policemen is searching for the criminals throughout the night. Forces from multiple police stations joined the search operation. The forces of many police stations along with Additional Police Commissioner Alok Priyadarshi are searching for the criminals.

Amid the grief and chaos, police and family members gathered at the postmortem center. The postmortem of the martyred soldier's body will be done in the morning. The Noida Police team is present at the postmortem house since morning. The legal process has been initiated. A case has been registered in Mussoorie police station on the complaint of Inspector Sachin Kumar of Phase 3 police station.
In the wake of the tragic incident, the family of the fallen constable is struggling to come to terms with their loss. After the murder of his son, his father Uttam Kumar's pain was evident. He said that just like the criminals shot my son dead, similarly Yogi government should run a bulldozer on his house and shoot him too.
The emotional weight of the tragedy is unbearable for the family. Saurabh Kumar has been married for 5 years but he has no children yet. The family is in a bad state due to crying. Saurabh's mother and wife faint while crying. As soon as they regain consciousness, they start calling Saurabh. There is a wave of mourning in the entire village. Relatives and people of the area have gathered at Saurabh's house. Saurabh had two brothers.
The scale of the incident drew immediate response from law enforcement. An FIR has been registered based on a complaint filed by a Noida sub-inspector. As soon as news of the violent attack broke, a large police force rushed to the spot. Amid the chaos and firing, the accused Qadir attempted to flee the scene along with his associates but was arrested.
The police force is now rallying behind Saurabh’s family to offer support. The Noida Police Commissionerate later announced support for the family of the constable. Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh will personally contribute Rs 1 lakh from her salary to the constable's family. Additionally, all police personnel posted in the district will donate one day's salary to support the bereaved family.
In a heartfelt tribute, the police department honored Saurabh’s courage. “Late Constable Saurabh Kumar posted at Police Station Phase-3 of Commissionerate Gautam Buddha Nagar, lost his life while performing his duty in the unfortunate incident that took place on the night of May 25. He showed indomitable courage and bravery by catching the accused and made the supreme sacrifice of his life. All the policemen of the Commissionerate are hurt by this incident and pay their tributes to him and express their condolences,” read an official statement issued by the Noida police.
