Minor Girl Abducted and Raped in Jhunjhunu: Three Arrested

A shocking case of abduction and rape has come to light in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district. A minor college girl was allegedly kidnapped, drugged with an intoxicating substance, and raped in a moving car. The police have arrested all three accused involved in the case and registered charges under the POCSO Act and serious sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The accused have been identified as Rihan, son of Farman Ali Chandel; Rizwan, son of Nisar Khan; and Shami, son of Majru Ali, all residents of Sikar district. The details of the case have horrified locals and raised serious concerns about the safety of girls traveling alone.

According to the complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, the incident took place on July 7, when her daughter was on her way home from college. Nawalgarh Deputy Rajveer Singh Champawat said that the girl’s mother lodged a complaint at the police station stating that her underage daughter was returning home from college on July 7. As she passed through a lane behind the college, three men overpowered her, made her inhale an intoxicant, and rendered her unconscious before forcibly taking her away in a car.

The situation worsened once the girl was inside the vehicle. Inside the car, the main accused Rihan raped her, while Rizwan and Shami stood outside keeping watch and assisting him. They also recorded a video of the incident. After committing the act, the three dumped her by the roadside and ran away. They threatened her, saying they would kill her and release the video if she told anyone.

Swift Police Response and Arrest

Understanding the seriousness of the matter, the police acted quickly. A police team was formed. Under the direction of Deputy Rajveer Singh Champawat, Head Constable Rampratap, HC Jitendra Kumar, HC Surendra Kumar, Constables Multanaram, Babulal, and Pramod Kumar conducted raids at suspected locations. The car used in the crime was seized, and all three accused were arrested.

The prompt police action brought some relief to the girl’s family. The authorities are now focused on collecting all digital and forensic evidence related to the crime.

Previous Incident Raised Tensions

The current case comes just days after a previous disturbing event that had already caused unrest in the area. It is worth noting that an earlier incident had already sparked controversy when a couple was seen in an obscene position inside a car. When locals raised objections, the youth fled the scene with the girl. The public later surrounded the police station demanding action. That event stirred anger among residents, who were demanding stricter enforcement of laws and preventive measures.

Now, the current incident appears to be a disturbing development linked to that case. Locals are questioning how such a heinous crime could occur so soon after the earlier controversy. Many are demanding stronger patrolling, installation of CCTV cameras, and safety measures for girl students, especially near educational institutions.
