"हलके उजालो में, हलके अंधेरो, में जो एक राज़ है": Siya Goyal takes ₹1 crore from fiancé Ketan Agarwal for wedding shopping, but secretly funds her lover Chetan Chaudhary before plotting a chilling cliffside murder at Pune’s Lohagad Fort

The ongoing investigation into the tragic death of 26-year-old Pune real estate businessman Ketan Agarwal has taken a darker turn. Law enforcement authorities have uncovered what they describe as a deeply calculated, premeditated conspiracy.
According to police officials, the plot was fueled entirely by financial greed and a hidden extramarital affair. Investigators now allege that Agarwal’s 20-year-old fiancée, Siya Goyal, managed to secure nearly ₹1 crore from him under the pretense of wedding shopping and upcoming marriage preparations. Instead of planning a future with him, she allegedly used those resources to orchestrate his murder alongside her secret lover, Chetan Chaudhary.
Both of the accused individuals are currently in police custody. They were formally arrested for conspiring to murder Agarwal by pushing him into a deep gorge at Lohagad Fort, a historic site located near Pune, on June 18.

Significant Funds Routed Straight to Secret Partner
Police documentation reveals that Ketan Agarwal had willingly handed over approximately ₹1 crore to Goyal so she could manage the heavy expenses tied to their upcoming wedding ceremonies. However, investigators claim that instead of spending these funds on marriage arrangements, Goyal secretly transferred the entire multi-million rupee sum directly to Chaudhary. The goal of this massive financial transfer was to help Chaudhary establish his personal career and fund his business ventures.
Detectives working the case believe this specific transaction served as the foundation for the entire murder plot. Chaudhary, who came from a financially modest background, had reportedly communicated his limitations to Goyal. He told her that he would require roughly three years to build a stable financial foundation before they could realistically build a life together.

Marriage Delayed Intentionally to Evade Law Enforcement
To ensure they would not face immediate scrutiny following Agarwal's sudden demise, the duo reportedly structured a detailed, long-term timeline designed to deflect suspicion away from them.
According to police investigators, the agreement required Goyal to remain completely unmarried for a strict duration of three years after the crime was committed. The co-conspirators reasoned that keeping her single would prevent anyone from instantly linking her fiancé's fatal accident to her secret relationship with Chaudhary. The duo planned to wait until the intense public attention and media scrutiny surrounding the case had completely faded. Once Chaudhary's business became financially secure, the two planned to marry, holding onto the hope that they would eventually win over and gain acceptance from Goyal’s family.

A Calculated Behavioral Cue
The execution of the crime itself involved chillingly precise coordination. Detectives have revealed that Goyal and Chaudhary had established a highly specific, pre-arranged physical cue to initiate the fatal attack.
The plan dictated that Goyal would suddenly sit down on the path, pretending to either drink water from a bottle or tie her shoelaces. The moment this specific action took place, Chaudhary was scheduled to emerge from his hiding spot and catch Agarwal off guard, pushing him directly off the edge of the cliff.
Law enforcement officials clarified that this specific cue was not chosen randomly. It was designed intentionally to safeguard Goyal during the physical struggle.
“The plan ensured she would not be within Agarwal’s reach. They feared that if he tried to grab her while falling, she too could plunge into the gorge,” an investigating official said.

Two-Wheeler Route Taken to Bypass Highway Cameras
The investigation has brought to light further evidence of calculated evasion tactics used by the suspects to hide their movements on the day of the crime.
Rather than utilizing a car, which could easily be tracked, Chaudhary chose to ride a scooter across a distance of nearly 90 kilometers all the way from Pune to Lohagad Fort on the exact day the murder took place. Investigators state that he deliberately avoided using a traditional four-wheeled vehicle specifically to prevent his travel routes, license plate, and timestamps from being logged by surveillance cameras at highway toll plazas.
As the investigation moves forward, local authorities have officially seized the scooter to process it for physical and forensic evidence.

True Face of Suspect Revealed by Longtime Close Acquaintance
New personal accounts have emerged from those who knew the suspects closely, casting a glaring light on the dual life led by the primary accused. A close family friend, who had known Siya Goyal since she was a 10-year-old child, has come forward to share the stark contrast between her public persona and her alleged actions. To her family, neighbors, and extended social circle, Goyal appeared to be an affectionate, deeply traditional young woman. She was widely known for her sweet smiles, her warm hugs, her habit of baking homemade cakes for the local children, and her consistent attendance at tight-knit family gatherings.
However, investigators now believe this gentle exterior was merely a sophisticated cover. Behind that carefully constructed mask lived a completely different, cold-hearted individual capable of calculated violence.
Ketan Agarwal did not just view Goyal as his future wife; he trusted her completely with his life and his resources. Their respective families had shared a deep bond of friendship spanning several years, giving Agarwal no reason to doubt her intentions. Despite this profound history of trust and mutual affection, police allege that she chose to align herself with her secret partner, Chetan Chaudhary, to execute a fatal trap on the steep, deadly cliffs of Lohagad Fort. Those close to the victim now describe the situation as an act of absolute malice completely disguised as genuine romantic love.

Confidential Phone Connection Maintained Prior to the Assault
Call Detail Records (CDRs) have rapidly emerged as a foundational element of the prosecution's digital evidence against the duo.
According to reliable police sources, Goyal maintained contact with Chaudhary through a confidential phone call precisely 34 minutes before Agarwal was pushed to his death. Investigators strongly suspect that this final conversation was used to give the definitive confirmation required to execute the plot.
Furthermore, police analysis indicates that the logistics of the conspiracy had been entirely finalized by both parties before the end of May.
Initial Cliffside Attempt Ended in Failure
Detectives have revealed that the fatal incident on June 18 was actually the second time the suspects had attempted to take Agarwal's life.
According to police sources, Goyal had previously tried to push Agarwal off a steep drop during an earlier trip they took to Lohagad Fort on June 14. Agarwal managed to survive the sudden fall by quickly grabbing onto wild bushes growing along the cliffside. When pressed for an explanation regarding how he fell, Goyal quickly covered her tracks by claiming she had been startled by a snake, causing her to accidentally bump into him and lose her balance.
Following the failure of that first attempt, investigators state that Chaudhary grew deeply concerned about leaving the task to chance. He made the conscious decision to personally shadow the couple during their very next visit to the fort, ensuring that Agarwal would have no opportunity to escape a second time.
Local police are currently tracking the exact financial trails, analyzing digital signatures, and reviewing every line of communication recovered between the two suspects. They continue to assemble a comprehensive timeline of what they maintain was a highly premeditated murder plotted months in advance. Both of the accused individuals remain in law enforcement custody without bail as the legal process moves forward.
Relatives Left Devastated Amid Social Media Illusion
The sudden exposure of the crime has left the entire Agarwal family completely shattered and traumatized. Looking back, family members realize they never could have predicted such a tragic outcome because their shared history was filled with seemingly joyous milestones. The traditional Rakhi celebrations they shared, the religious family pujas they attended together, and the numerous happy photographs posted across social media platforms were apparently nothing more than an elaborate deception designed to keep everyone blind to the truth.
Grieving family members are now channeling their profound shock into a firm demand for absolute legal accountability. They are publicly calling for the strictest possible judicial punishment available under the law, insisting that there be absolutely no leniency or mercy shown for such a heartless, devastating betrayal of human trust.
A Crucial Warning on Premarital Vigilance
The public exposure of this tragic case has quickly transformed into a stark, cautionary lesson for modern society regarding the dangers of rushing blindly into lifelong commitments. Relationship experts and law enforcement observers note that families must take significant, unhurried time to truly observe and understand a person's character before moving forward with marriage arrangements.
It is vital to maintain open, completely transparent communication with family members and trusted loved ones throughout the courtship process. As this devastating situation in Pune demonstrates, making a single wrong choice in a life partner can completely destroy multiple families and end innocent lives forever.
