"तत थई, तू मेरी हो गई": Sheru Pathan posing as 'Shiv,' deceives a Vadodara school to become a dance teacher, exploiting his role to send inappropriate messages to Hindu girls on Instagram, a disturbing violation of safety & trust in an educational setting
In a recent incident from Vadodara, a concerning pattern of behavior has come to light involving an individual named Sheru Pathan. Pathan, who reportedly concealed his identity, joined a school as a temporary dance teacher. Under the guise of this position, he engaged in inappropriate behavior towards young students.

According to sources, Sheru Pathan adopted the name "Shiv" to disguise his identity. This subterfuge allowed him to gain the trust of students in the 8th and 9th grades at the school. The nature of his approach was particularly alarming. He reportedly reached out to these students through Instagram, a popular social media platform, and began to send them messages that were deemed inappropriate.
What is notably disturbing about this case is the specific targeting involved. It has been reported that Pathan selectively contacted only Hindu girls from his classes. This selective approach raises serious concerns, considering the diversity of the student body, which includes girls from various religious backgrounds.
The situation gained wider attention when a video started circulating on social media. In this video, a man, identifying himself as Sheru Pathan, is seen making a public apology. He admits to the actions he is accused of and acknowledges that what he did was wrong. This confession reportedly came after members of the Bajrang Dal, a local organization, confronted him about his behavior.
In his confession, Pathan reveals that he posed as a Hindu dance teacher named Shiv. This act of deception was part of a larger scheme where he followed Hindu girls from the school on Instagram and subsequently sent them obscene messages.
Sheru Pathan Only Contacted Hindu Girls in Classes 8th and 9th
In a deeply unsettling case from Vadodara, more details have emerged about the actions of Sheru Pathan, a man who posed as a Hindu dance teacher. A recent video that went viral on social media features Pathan making a startling confession. He is heard saying, "My name is Sheru Pathan. I went to a school as a dance teacher, where I messaged some Hindu girls, after which the Bajrang Dal people caught me. They have taught me a lesson. So from today, I will not message any Hindu girl. At the same time, I apologize to everyone."
Following the circulation of this video, the team at OpIndia took steps to investigate the credibility of these claims. During this process, they made contact with Ketan Trivedi, an activist associated with Bajrang Dal in Vadodara. Trivedi not only confirmed the incident but also revealed additional troubling details.
Sheru Pathan's strategy was deceitful and calculated. He assumed a Hindu identity and approached a school, seeking a temporary position as a dance teacher for the annual cultural festival. A female teacher at the school, acting on a reference, appointed him. It's important to note that the temporary nature of the appointment meant that the usual rigorous checks and identity verification processes were not thoroughly applied by the school. During this time, Pathan told people his name was Shiv.

In an exclusive interview with OpIndia, Ketan Trivedi shed more light on the situation. He explained, "A choreographer was appointed by the school for a school event who used to teach dance to school girls. Sheru Pathan had joined this place by hiding his identity."
Trivedi went on to describe how Pathan systematically targeted his victims. He memorized the names of girls from the 8th and 9th grades who attended his dance classes. He then followed these girls on Instagram, initiating contact by sending them various "reels" (short videos). However, these interactions quickly escalated to Pathan harassing the girls, sending them inappropriate and obscene messages through the chat feature on Instagram.
Bajrang Dal Catches Dance Teacher After Report of Harassment
The situation involving Sheru Pathan took a significant turn when one of the affected students confided in her brother about the harassment she faced. This disclosure led to immediate action. The brother reached out to the Bajrang Dal, an activist group in the area. Bajrang Dal members promptly responded by visiting the school. Their intervention brought to light the full extent of Pathan's actions.
The activists of Bajrang Dal confronted Pathan at the school. During their investigation, they examined his mobile phone. This examination revealed a disturbing pattern. It was found that Pathan had been harassing at least 10 girls, all of whom were students in the 8th and 9th grades. These findings were based on the contents of his Instagram messages.
Ketan Trivedi, the Bajrang Dal activist involved in uncovering this incident, shared the evidence with OpIndia. He provided them with photos of the messages sent by Pathan. Due to the explicit nature of many of these messages, only a select few were shared by OpIndia. The messages that were published clearly demonstrate how Sheru Pathan persistently harassed these young girls. His messages included inappropriate questions like "Do you like me?" The chat logs also show that the girls resisted these advances, indicating their discomfort and unwillingness to engage in such conversations.
One of the most shocking revelations from this investigation was the targeted nature of Pathan's harassment. It was discovered that all the girls he messaged were Hindu. There was no evidence on his phone of any conversation with Muslim girls. This selective targeting has raised serious concerns about his motives and highlighted the need for greater vigilance in safeguarding students against such predatory behavior.

Sheru Pathan Previously Accused of Misconduct with a 15-Year-Old Girl
The case of Sheru Pathan, the individual caught for harassing students in a Vadodara school, has taken a more alarming turn with new revelations. When Bajrang Dal activists began delving into Pathan's background, they uncovered his real identity. It was revealed that his name was Sheru Pathan and he resided in Manjalpur, Vadodara. This discovery was just the beginning of a series of unsettling findings.
During their investigation, members of Bajrang Dal unearthed an incident from three years prior involving Pathan. At that time, he operated Nawab dance classes in Manjalpur. A particularly distressing event was brought to light: Pathan was reportedly caught molesting a 15-year-old girl. He had locked the doors of the dance class during this act. Fortunately, people nearby became aware of the situation, intervened, and caught him red-handed. In response to his actions, he was publicly beaten by those who caught him.
This earlier incident had also gained some attention on social media, with a video of the event circulating on Facebook.
In a conversation with OpIndia, Ketan Trivedi from Bajrang Dal reflected on the gravity of this situation. He emphasized the need for parental vigilance, stating, “This is an eye-opening case. Every parent must take care of this. Every parent should inquire from time to time so that no one harasses their daughter in this way, otherwise, due to such anti-social elements, the life of the girls can be spoiled.”
The case of Sheru Pathan is not just an isolated incident but a stark reminder of the potential dangers lurking in seemingly safe environments like dance classes or schools. It highlights the crucial role of community awareness and parental involvement in safeguarding young individuals. Trivedi's words serve as a call to action for parents and guardians to remain alert and engaged in their children's lives, particularly regarding their interactions with instructors and on social media. This case underscores the importance of open communication between children and their parents about their experiences and interactions, both in the physical world and online, to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
