Islamist mob attacks Hindu youth Vishal Rai, police deny ‘communal angle’: Nallasopara, Mumbai

Hindus in the Mumbai suburb of Nallasopara are facing harassment from Islamists. Recently, a youth residing in Deep Heights Cooperative Housing Society was attacked by an Islamist mob. The society residents have been raising complaints regarding the group constantly harassing Hindus, but their pleas have fallen on deaf ears.

They have highlighted their plight in their letter to the Uttar Bharatiya Sanstha with copies marked to the Police Commissioner, PMO, Maharashtra, and UP CMOs. The letter clearly names Wasim Ansari, Shehbaaz, Taufique, Shahrukh, Abdul, Rehmaan, and Salman as the culprits.

This group of Islamists claims to have the backing of influential politicians. A group of 50 Islamists recently assaulted Hindu youth Vishal Rai with the assault being captured on CCTV. One can see the group corner Vishal and manhandle him. Vishal was assaulted with bamboos and hockey sticks. Society members

The residents have alleged that the police have filed a one-sided FIR under section 326 and no cross-case was registered. Emboldened by the police inaction, the goons have been threatening Vishal and other Hindu residents. They have even threatened residents saying they would get them falsely implicated under the IPC section 307 (attempt to murder).

The letter points out that their constant complaints have yielded no result and have requested the concerned authorities to take appropriate action to ensure the goons are punished and peace is maintained in the area.

“On the evening of October 30, I was returning along with my friend Nitesh after getting petrol filled in my vehicle. Shahrukh stopped our vehicle and called up somebody. He informed the other person that we have caught hold of one of the fellows from the fight that occurred day-before-yesterday. He snatched my phone and vehicle keys and also slapped me. He was about to hit Nitesh with a stone but the latter fled the spot. I wasn’t allowed to leave the spot. After some time 30-40 people arrived there and started hitting me”, said Vishal.

Vishal further stated that the goons carried a chopper and sticks with which he was assaulted. He received bruises on his back and face and was left with a broken tooth. Vishal also said that he has been constantly receiving death threats.

The anti-Hindu secular state has often failed to protect Hindus which has yet again been exemplified in this case. We have often witnessed such ganging up used as intimidating tactics by Islamists. It remains to be seen if Vishal and other residents get justice.
