4 Hindus stabbed and many injured in Communal violence that erupted in Bagalkot of Karnataka over FB post on Nupur Sharma, set fire to many stores, two-wheelers, and stalls, CM Basavraj Bommai said, incident happened due to personal issues

Four Hindus were wounded, and numerous others were harmed in the viciousness that ejected in the Kerur Taluka of the Bagalkot locale in Karnataka on sixth July 2022 after Hindus attempted to hold up a protest against a lady specialist over her Facebook post against previous Bharatiya Janata Party representative Nupur Sharma and her comments on Prophet Muhammad.
Notwithstanding, Karnataka's Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai has said that the episode occurred because of private matters.

As per a report by Free Press Journal, Lakshman Kattimani, Arun Kattimani, and Yamanur Chungin, all occupants of Kerur town, were wounded in this occurrence. Another named Bande Gokak endured a head injury. Every one of them is confessed to the medical clinic. All the harmed are individuals from a nearby Hindu association.
As the two gatherings combat, a put a match to many stores, bikes, and fruit and vegetable stalls. The episode happened when one of the casualties purportedly endeavored to record a grievance against a female doctor for her Facebook post reprimanding previous BJP representative Nupur Sharma's remarks.
Representative Commissioner Sunil Kumar said, "The CrPC Section 144 will be cinched for two days starting from noon of July 6. Schools and universities have been shut in Kerur town on Thursday. The circumstance is taken care of, and police are testing the occurrence."

The police have arrested ten people in this case so far. Karnataka chief minister Basavraj Bommai said, “Kerur incident happened due to personal issues. Police have already controlled the situation & some arrests are made; injured are admitted to hospitals. We’ve given instructions to both communities to maintain peace. Our senior officials, DC, are present on the spot.” The police are doing further investigations.

Over the last few weeks, there have been repeated incidents of violence in the country in connection with former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s allegedly insulting remarks against the Prophet Muhammad. In Udaipur, a Hindu tailor Kanhaiya Lal was beheaded by Islamists on June 28 for a social media post supporting Nupur Sharma. In a similar incident in Amravati, a Hindu chemist Umesh Kolhe was beheaded by Islamists for supporting Nupur Sharma in one of her social media posts.
