From lynchings to crude bomb attacks, a terrifying wave of TMC-led retaliation follows the 2026 West Bengal election, leaving BJP workers like Jadhav Bor murdered as Mamata clings to power amid absolute chaos and terror

The political atmosphere in West Bengal turned dangerously violent immediately after the results of the 2026 Vidhan Sabha elections were declared on 4th May. The Trinamool Congress (TMC), led by Mamata Banerjee, suffered a massive electoral setback, triggering widespread unrest across different parts of the State. Even as Mamata Banerjee refused to step down after the defeat, allegations rapidly emerged that TMC-backed groups had unleashed violence against BJP workers, supporters and ordinary residents in multiple districts.
Since the declaration of the election results, reports of lynchings, shootings, bomb attacks, vandalism and intimidation have surfaced from several areas of West Bengal. Multiple BJP workers were allegedly killed or seriously injured, while homes and properties were targeted in what many described as revenge attacks carried out in the aftermath of the election verdict. Media reports have documented several such incidents since 4th May 2026.
BJP Worker Jadhav Bor Lynched in Howrah
On the night of Monday, 4th May, a 45-year-old BJP worker identified as Jadhav Bor was allegedly lynched by TMC goons near his residence in the Udaynarayanpur area of Howrah.
The incident took place shortly after BJP supporters had begun celebrating the party’s victory in the elections. According to family members, Jadhav Bor had stepped outside earlier in the evening to celebrate with colours alongside other BJP karyakartas in the locality. After returning home for some time, he later went out again to bathe at a nearby spot situated a short distance from his residence.
It was during this moment that a group of attackers allegedly surrounded him and launched a brutal assault. Reports suggest that he was struck on the head with an iron rod, leaving him critically injured on the spot. Residents nearby rushed after hearing his screams, but by the time they arrived, the attackers had already fled the area.
Jadhav Bor was immediately taken to Udaynarayanpur State General Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The killing sent shockwaves across the locality, with BJP supporters accusing TMC-backed criminals of carrying out a politically motivated murder.
