Reports indicate that on June 1st, 2024, Ansari abducted the victim from her hostel in Ghazipur and took her to Varanasi, where he raped her. This horrific act not only violated the victim's physical sanctity but was also compounded by death threats; Ansari allegedly threatened to "cut her along with her parents in pieces and throw them away." The case is particularly alarming as it highlights not only the act of violence but also the severe intimidation faced by the victim.
The police are currently investigating the matter further, with past records showing that Ansari has been booked under multiple cases, including the Gangster Act.
Following the arrest of Armaan Ansari in the abduction and rape case of a Dalit LLB student, additional details have emerged about the nature of the threats he allegedly made. Ansari is accused of issuing death threats to the victim, stating chillingly that he would "cut her along with her parents in pieces and throw them away." This is not the first time Ansari has faced legal scrutiny; he has been previously booked and has numerous cases registered against him, including charges under the Gangster Act.
The victim, a member of the Dalit community, lodged a complaint against Ansari at the Bahariabad police station in Ghazipur on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024. Originating from Azamgarh, she is currently pursuing her law degree at a college located in the same police station area. In her complaint, she detailed a harrowing encounter with Ansari, who is also a resident of the Saidpur area in Ghazipur and her college mate.

According to her statement, on June 1st, 2024, Ansari forcefully entered her hostel armed with a pistol. He used the weapon to threaten her, demanding that she come outside. Once she emerged, he began to verbally abuse her, hurling casteist slurs such as "Cha$riya" at her. He then forcibly placed her on his motorcycle, continuing to threaten her with the pistol. He warned her that if she raised an alarm or reported the incident to anyone, he would shoot her. This account adds another layer of severity to the case, highlighting the aggressive and discriminatory nature of the assault.
Armaan Ansari, after abducting the victim from her hostel, took a route unknown to her and arrived in Varanasi. There, he identified a remote location, where he forcibly threw her to the ground and raped her. Subsequent to the assault, he issued a lethal threat, warning her against disclosing the incident to anyone.
The victim reported that during this terrifying ordeal, Ansari explicitly threatened her life and her family's, stating: “If anyone comes to know about this, I will cut you to pieces and throw you away the same day and will also kill your parents.”
Further allegations have come to light, suggesting that Ansari had accessed and hacked the victim’s email and mobile phone, continuing to intimidate her with threats of abduction.
Adding to the victim’s torment, her marriage, which had been arranged three years prior, was jeopardized. Ansari allegedly visited her native village on June 23, 2024, where he disseminated obscene videos and messages about her, ultimately leading to the cancellation of her upcoming marriage.
Eventually, the victim disclosed the entire incident to her mother. With the support of her family, she proceeded to lodge a formal complaint at the Bahariabad police station in Ghazipur on 26th June.
Following her complaint, the police charged Armaan Ansari under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the SC/ST Act, specifically sections 354, 366, 504, 506, 376, and 323. OpIndia has obtained a copy of the complaint. Subsequent to filing the complaint, the victim underwent a medical examination and her statement was officially recorded in court.
After the registration of the case, Ansari initially evaded capture. However, a police operation was launched to locate him. On the morning of Friday, 28th June 2024, an informer alerted the police to Ansari's location near the Saidpur Highway. The police acted swiftly on this tip, arriving at the location and apprehending Ansari.
When the police investigated the criminal history of Shamim Ahmed’s 25-year-old son, Armaan Ansari, they discovered that he had been previously charged in six separate criminal cases. These charges include robbery, fraud, a threat to kill, attempt to murder, violations under the Gangster Act, theft, and illegal possession of weapons. The police are actively continuing their investigation into these matters, and further legal actions are being pursued.
