Indore Shocker: Arshad Pathan Poses as ‘Harish’, Rapes Hindu Woman, Pressures Her to Convert to Islam

In a deeply distressing case from Chandan Nagar, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, yet another incident of Love Jihad has surfaced, shaking the conscience of the community. A 24-year-old Hindu woman has accused a man named Arshad Pathan of deceitfully posing as a Hindu man named Harish to manipulate her into a relationship. The shocking revelations in the complaint bring to light the extent of the alleged deceit and coercion involved.

According to the victim's account, Arshad not only trapped her under false pretenses but also subjected her to rape and unnatural sexual assault. The victim further claimed that Arshad went on to pressure her into converting to Islam, an act that underscores the alarming pattern seen in similar cases.

The sinister involvement doesn’t stop with Arshad alone. The complaint names five other individuals as accomplices in this horrifying crime, including Arshad’s brother Sabir, father Qadir, and three women from the family. These individuals allegedly took an active part in intimidating and threatening the victim, adding layers of psychological trauma to her physical suffering.

In light of these allegations, the police have registered a case against all six accused, who are currently absconding. The authorities are leaving no stone unturned as they investigate this heinous crime and search for the perpetrators.

Ordeal of the Victim: How Trust Turned Into a Nightmare

In the heart-wrenching tale that unfolded in Chandan Nagar, Indore, a 24-year-old Hindu woman recounted how trust turned into betrayal, and her life spiraled into a nightmare. The victim, who sells goods alongside her mother to make ends meet, became entangled in a deceptive relationship with Arshad Pathan, an auto driver who cunningly introduced himself as Harish, a Hindu man.

Around six months ago, during her regular commutes, the victim met Arshad, whose fabricated identity as an orphan and Hindu helped him infiltrate her life. Gradually, he became a familiar presence, gaining her trust and that of her family. To further this illusion, Arshad often drove the victim and her mother, portraying himself as a reliable and devoted individual.

In August, Arshad visited the victim’s home under the pretense of formalizing their relationship. It was during this visit, as per the complaint, that he raped her, all while she remained unaware of his true identity. To solidify his facade, Arshad went to great lengths, participating in Hindu religious events such as Ganesh Visarjan, visiting temples, and observing Hindu rituals. His actions left no reason for the victim to doubt his false identity.

However, the charade began to crumble as the victim sought clarity on their future together. When she pressed him on the matter of marriage, Arshad's demeanor changed drastically. He demanded that she convert to Islam, insisting it was a prerequisite for their union. Initially dismissing it as a jest, she was horrified when he revealed his true name and persisted in pressuring her to change her religion.

Arshad’s demands escalated into violent and abusive behavior. He allegedly forced unnatural sexual acts on her, claiming such acts were necessary for their relationship to proceed. When the victim resisted, he physically assaulted her, reinforcing his demands with intimidation and coercion.

Determined to uncover the truth, the victim visited Arshad’s house on December 9, where the extent of his deceit became evident. She discovered that he was not an orphan, as he had claimed, and met his father, Qadir. The situation intensified when Arshad and his brother Sabir arrived, leading to a heated argument. Arshad reiterated his demand for her to convert to Islam and comply with his expectations.

During this confrontation, Sabir made an appalling suggestion, stating that if Arshad was unwilling, she could be with him instead. The victim resisted and pushed Sabir away, only for him to drag her into a room, threaten her with a knife, and rape her, warning her to remain silent about the incident. Traumatised and shattered, she returned home, avoiding contact with others for days.

Ultimately, the victim found the courage to share her ordeal with members of Hindu organizations, who encouraged her to come forward and file a police complaint. Her resilience and bravery in confronting her assailants have shed light on yet another harrowing instance of manipulation and violence, calling attention to the alarming pattern of such cases in society.

Six Accused, Including Three Women, Booked

In the aftermath of the harrowing complaint filed by the victim, the Chandan Nagar Police have taken swift legal action against Arshad Pathan, alias Harish, and his family. The accused include his brother Sabir, father Qadir, and three women from their household. The charges leveled against them are grave, encompassing rape, unnatural sexual assault, religious conversion coercion, intimidation, and physical assault.

The victim’s account revealed a chilling pattern of intimidation and manipulation, orchestrated by the entire family to pressure her into compliance. According to the police, the accused not only subjected the victim to physical and sexual violence but also used fear and coercion to demand her conversion to Islam as a prerequisite for marriage.

Speaking to the media, the police acknowledged the heinous nature of the allegations and confirmed that all six accused are currently absconding. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend them. The authorities have assured that no stone will be left unturned in bringing the culprits to justice.

This case has once again drawn attention to the alarming instances of deceit, violence, and forced religious conversions under the guise of relationships, igniting widespread outrage and calls for stricter laws to address such cases. The ongoing investigation aims to deliver justice to the victim and prevent further occurrences of such crimes.
