Gonda Police arrested four, including Waris Khan and Parvez Khan, after a Class IX Hindu girl was harassed and her brother was assaulted at KGN Public School for objecting to obscene Instagram texts

GONDA, UTTAR PRADESH – A disturbing series of events centered around a private school in the Gonda district has resulted in police intervention and multiple arrests. Law enforcement officials in Uttar Pradesh took decisive action on February 15th, apprehending four individuals in connection with a harassment case involving a minor.

The incident, which has sparked significant local concern, occurred at the KGN Public School located in Seheriya Churaha, falling under the jurisdiction of the Kaundhiya Bazar Police Station. The police acted swiftly following a complaint lodged by the father of a Class IX student. He alleged that his daughter was being stalked and subjected to obscene messages on Instagram by a Muslim boy, who is also a student at the same institution.
The situation escalated from digital harassment to physical violence when the girl’s family attempted to address the issue. According to the police reports, the school’s manager, Waris Khan, along with the accused student and several others, have been booked for allegedly assaulting the victim's brother when he visited the campus to object to the harassment.
The authorities have treated the matter with high priority. Based on the formal complaint submitted by the girl’s father, the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR). The charges are extensive, covering multiple violations under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, specifically Sections 191(2), 78(2), 79, 352, 351(2), and 131. Furthermore, recognizing the age of the victim, the police have also invoked Sections 11 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
As noted in reports circulating on social platforms, including updates from Source: Ranvijay Singh/Facebook, the investigation is currently active.

Teenager claims persistent stalking
The details provided in the father’s complaint paint a picture of ongoing distress for the young girl. It is alleged that the primary accused, identified as Parvez Khan, had been harassing the minor repeatedly. This harassment reportedly took place while she was commuting to and from school, a time when students are particularly vulnerable.
The harassment eventually moved into the digital space. The accused allegedly began sending her lewd and obscene messages via the social media platform Instagram. Media reports covering the incident have highlighted that the victim attempted to handle the situation herself initially. Chat logs between Parvez and the victim reportedly reveal that the girl explicitly asked him to stop disturbing her and issued a warning that she would be forced to inform her father if his behavior continued.
The girl's father stated that these warnings were ignored. Despite repeated objections, the accused persisted in messaging her. The breaking point arrived on Saturday. It is reported that another message was received on the girl’s phone at a time when her brother happened to be holding the device. Upon seeing the harassment firsthand, the brother decided to visit the school to confront the management and resolve the issue.
Sibling attacked on school grounds
What was intended to be a confrontation to protect a sister turned into a violent altercation. The complainant stated that when the girl's brother arrived at the school to raise the issue, he was met with aggression rather than assistance.
The complaint alleges that the accused student, Parvez, was joined by a group of men including Waris Khan, Salauddin Hafiz, Israil, Zakire, Sajid, Arshad, and Imran. Additionally, a mob of approximately 10 to 15 unidentified individuals reportedly joined them. It is alleged that this group attacked the girl’s brother with sticks and hurled abuses at him.
The situation reportedly took a communal turn during the argument. Media reports suggest that during the heated exchange, the victim’s brother accused the group of engaging in "love jihad"—a term often used to describe inter-faith relationships alleged to be deceitful. In response to this accusation, Salauddin Hafiz allegedly made a brazen declaration. According to the reports, he responded: “We will spread love jihad, do whatever you want.”
This specific statement has been highlighted in the complaint as part of the threats issued during the altercation.
Serious charges leveled at administration
Beyond the immediate violence and harassment, the girl’s father has brought forward serious allegations regarding the institutional integrity of KGN Public School. He has claimed that the school is operating without the necessary government recognition, a critical piece of information that was allegedly concealed from parents at the time of admission.
Furthermore, the complaint includes a disturbing allegation regarding the school's environment. The father has alleged that outside clerics were being invited into the school premises to conduct sessions. He claims these sessions were aimed at "brainwashing" the students.
These claims regarding the school's legitimacy and the nature of the instruction provided are currently part of the official police investigation.
Law enforcement response and detentions
The police have moved quickly to restore order and investigate the claims. In a video statement released to the press, police officials confirmed the timeline of events. They stated that on the 15th, the complaint was filed detailing how a Class XII boy was harassing a Class IX girl from the same school, leading to the assault on her brother by the principal and others.
Tej Pratap Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kaundhiya Bazar Police Station, spoke to the media to confirm the arrests. He stated that the police team reached the school premises and initiated a thorough investigation. He confirmed that four primary accused individuals have been taken into custody for questioning. These include the school manager Waris Khan, the student Parvez Khan, along with Salauddin Hafiz and Israil.
To aid in the digital forensic investigation, the mobile phone of the accused student has been seized and is currently being examined for evidence of the alleged chats and messages. The police have also made it clear that this is an ongoing operation; they have stated that strict action will be taken against the other accused persons named in the complaint who are currently absconding.
