The media reported another gruesome end to a grooming jihad story from Thrissur. Arshad (27) from Thrissur pushed out Ernakulam native Pratheeksha (22) from his running car. The victim is now fighting for her life at Thrissur Medical College Hospital and has been seriously injured.

The injured woman was living away from her husband and had two children. Arshad is a native of Guruvayur, and the victim is from Cherayi. The police said that Arshad had groomed her, and the two got close to each other. She abandoned her children and has been living with Arshad for the last two weeks.

Kunnamkulam ACP T S Sinoj reported that MDMA was also found in the vehicle. So the initial charge of arrest was possession of a controlled drug. Based on her father’s accusation, police will also file a charge of attempted murder, according to the ACP.

While traveling together, Arshad opened the door and pushed her out. She hung on to the door, but the accused failed to stop. The incident happened near a vacant spot near Kunnamkulam. Arshad left her to die on the roadside and escape the crime scene.

Unable to see her children, she was suffering from mental problems. Police confirmed that the accused pushed the woman from the car following an argument about marriage. Arshad allegedly made a marriage proposal to her but changed his mind.

She clung to the car, but Arshad allegedly drove it ahead and dragged her 100 meters. Prateeksha was injured on the roadside in the morning and was shifted to the hospital. The first conclusion was that it was a car accident and that the vehicle that hit her did not stop.

The hit and run theory soon changed when the victim regained consciousness. The incident unfolded when the police arrived and took the woman’s statement.

Police took footage from the nearby CCTV cameras, and the accused was taken into custody. Police apprehended Arshad after a chase. His car has also been impounded. Further investigations are ongoing.
