“Realize that everything connects to everything else": Son wins a race his father could not finish, 17-year-old boy saves the life of a teenager from drowning, the story of a father and his son from Kerala
Kochi: History does not repeat always as a farce; it can be a sterling success as well, even though after more than two decades. Here is the story of a father and his son from Thrikkodithanam, Changanassery, Kottayam district of Kerala.
Twenty-three years ago T.R. Krishnakumar tried to save the life of a 13-year-old boy while he was drowning in the Maloorkkavu temple pond. Krishnakumar tried his level best but unfortunately could recover only the dead body of the boy. But his son Adithya Krishna alias Appu (17) successfully saved a soul from the same pond recently.

On June 19, 2022, Adithya Krishna saved the life of Sabarinath (14) when he was about to drown while swimming with a couple of his friends. His friends failed to save him and they screamed. Adithya who was around at that time immediately rammed into the water and saved him. But for Adithya’s valor, Sabarinath would have met with a tragic drowning.
Krishnakumar told this correspondent that he had explained to his son and his daughter Eashwara Krishna about his 23-year-old futile effort to save a boy’s life. He made it a point to train both to swim. Krishnakumar and Adithya are active Swayamsevaks of Rashtriya Swayamsevam Sangh in their place.
Kerala Government Chief Whip Dr. N Jayaraj, Changanasserry Arch Diocese Vicar General Msgr. Joseph Vaniyapurackal and former Missoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan congratulated and felicitated Adithya in three respective public programs in the village. Several NGOs and LSG Bodies also felicitated him.
